With all the buzz about DeepSeek and AI operators, I can’t help but wonder... What replaces that morning-after haze from a brute-force, copy-paste all-nighter? The unglorious, but all-too-common trade-off: Do I script it? Do I delegate? Or do I just grind through it myself—because, honestly, that’s the fastest way? AI is flipping that equation. Now, it’s more like: Do I prompt AI and pray it works? Do I fine-tune it so it actually does? Or - somehow - am I still better off doing it myself? AI isn’t just replacing grunt work. It’s shifting the fastest path forward. And that changes everything. And it is something that makes me optimistic about the future!

Celebrating low bias in AI is commendable, but let's ponder the cost of not harnessing AI's full potential to streamline business operations. Remember AI is a tool!

Linus Torvalds: AI will change the world, but don’t trust the hype. Great advice. From an interview he recently gave: “I think AI is really interesting and I think it is going to change the world, and at the same time I hate the hype cycle so much that I really don’t want to go there. So my approach to AI right now is I will basically ignore it because I think the whole tech industry around AI is currently in a very bad position and it’s 90% marketing and 10% reality. In 5 years things will change and at that point we’ll see what of the AI is being used every day for real workloads.” #beThe10

AI agents need less hype and more vision. There’s so much fluff out there about AI agents, but in reality the definition of an AI agent is vague. Where’s the vision? I was impressed by Devin, not because of how effective it is currently, but rather because of the clear and bold vision set for an AI engineering agent. Is Devin the finished product already? Absolutely not. But foundation models are developing at such an absurd rate (and with the open source Llama 3 already here and the next iteration of GPT very close) it won’t be long before these bold, pipe-dream like visions are a reality. Keep thinking bigger; keep disrupting yourself. AI agents will be hired in similar capacities to human agents BEFORE WE KNOW IT. What we’re currently seeing from the AI application layer is barely the tip of the iceberg. Oh, and watch this space as Legal OS is about to evolve & surprise. We’ve had something in the works for a while…
