My brutally honest take on Figma's AI tools that were presented at #CONFIG. This is coming from someone who loves UI and Visual Design and excels on that front. At its current state, it will replace those designers who should have been replaced already for obvious reasons if their idea of a finished product is what the design-builder gives them as a starting point. Also, within all that AI hyped content, I never heard anything about research and user validation for those designs so why are you worried? Will AI perform discovery work, usability testing, stakeholder management, fire-control? 🔅 Can it design a good data table component??????????? I'll become afraid of AI replacing ME when they figure out how to add common sense, thoughts, instinct, and other intrinsic traits... Of course, at that point, we probably will be planning a way to go back in time to prevent it. Also... (and this is a joke) should we change the title from UX/UI which is already wrong, to AI/UX/UI. Sorry, I'm sleep-deprived. On a brighter note, the trip to CONFIG was amazing haha #AI #UX #UI

In the evolving AI landscape, we're witnessing a pivotal shift: AI agents will be active participants in our digital ecosystems. This transformation introduces the era of Agent-Computer Interaction (ACI?), where AI agents function as distinct user personas with unique needs and objectives. For software professionals and UX designers, this means rethinking the approach to interface design. Interface design (and use case supporting functionality) should now consider the experiences of humans users as well as a user group that may come to dwarf the human user community - AI agents. https://lnkd.in/gYBGehUj

This is something I've been thinking about a lot lately: The concept of UX as human-centric is about to change dramatically. Strictly speaking, the "user" in UX has never had to be a human, but in practical reality, that's what it has meant. So much of the methodology around it has been built around human biases, preferences, psychology, and even biology. For example, the ease of clicking on a button without "overshooting" it with your mouse impacts size and placement. The biology of the eye influences color rules (don't put blue touching red! 🟦 🟥 ) and tucking things away in the periphery of the screen has made them less likely to be noticed, because human eyes most clearly see only what they're pointing at. 👀 None of those apply to AI users. I wonder if we will start to see websites with "switches" similar to light/dark mode or language selection, allowing a user to select between "human" and "robot" views. 🎛️ #ai #future #ux #agents #ui

Redesigning how we work at Microsoft with generative AI https://lnkd.in/gVuG_cP6 We’re shifting from a fixed, traditional UX approach to AI-influenced UX. With traditional UX, the UI is central and static, mapping out all possible user interactions. The surrounding UX context has a minor role, not influencing the UI dynamically. In AI UX, the UI is minimized, signifying a responsive and adaptive approach that relies on AI for real-time user interaction. Here, the UX context is amplified, reflecting the system’s capacity to accommodate various user environments, thereby shaping a more tailored experience.

Top AI Tools for UI Design 👇 🔻 Most of these tools are generative AI tools with text prompts. You can leverage them in your passion projects as a junior designer. 🔻 Companies and clients don't want purely AI-generated designs. That's why you should use these tools to enhance the process, not to present their output as the outcome. ♟️What tool is missing from this list? #ui #uxui #uxdesign #uidesign #visualdesign

Excellent article by the great designer Paz Perez, which helps us to understand how human-machine interactions are constituted not only by the messages we send but also by the context in which the communication takes place. The role of the UX Designer becomes fundamental to build the framework that allows us to communicate in an efficient way with AI models, by incorporating at the prompt all those elements that make the experience of communicating possible and reliable. #uxdesign, #AI, #prompting
