Meet Shelly Joseph-Dixon, a Customer Success Manager here at Remofirst! “Can you share a unique cultural experience or insight you've gained from interacting with our global clientele?” Working with clients in different countries who are hiring in other countries on the opposite side of the world can be a challenge of cultural differences. Being the middle person who manages this process allows me to constantly learn about different countries, laws, cultural expectations and generally be a part of bringing 2 different cultures together to work with understanding of the country laws and expectations. "What's the most rewarding part of your job? What drives you to give your best every day?" The best part of my job is sending the email to say to the employee "You are officially hired" and to the client that says the process for onboarding is now over and the employee will be starting on X day. Knowing that I have helped someone have legal employment across the world is very rewarding and makes me feel like I have made a difference.

Several years ago, we started a new tradition at Office Dynamics International. Being that this was Delani Denton's first year on the team, she had to experience her initiation. Her response was priceless! Although this was something we did as a joke and to make her laugh, it brings up an important concept. Well, a few actually: • Creating moments and memories like these are powerful for your team's morale and promotes a positive company culture. • Having company traditions creates a sense of distinction and belonging. This is why major sports teams have their own traditions to grow the camaraderie. • Surprises are extra powerful; make sure your team member isn't expecting them, and it will strengthen the impact of the moment. I know, I am being an educator, but I had to take this fun moment and explain my thoughts. As executive and administrative assistants, go the extra mile and think of ways you can do the same within your own organizations. And yes, Delani still has most of her desk items wrapped. Understandably, she did have to unwrap the keyboard and mouse.

Get to know our employees! Emma Karlsson, Operations Manager at Speeron, has been with the company for 9 years. What is the best thing about working at Speeron? I think the best thing is that if you work hard, you can be a part of creating a role that suits you! I started out working mostly with finance, learning so much, but I realized I would love to work more with projects and support and assist my colleagues to succeed in their fields. Do you have any hobbies or other interests? I spend most of my free time with my family and friends, and I try to visit the Swedish West Coast as often as possible. Even if I love Stockholm, North Bohuslän is still the most beautiful place on earth. How do you describe the company's culture and values? We have a familiar atmosphere. If you enjoy your work, you will perform better. How do you balance work and your personal life? It can be hard to find the right balance when you’re always connected, but the key is planning! The less time you have (between work, kids, friends, etc.), the better you get at prioritizing. How do you learn and grow in your role? I feel like I have support and trust from management, which makes me more confident when talking about new tasks. Also, being able to ask colleagues for help without feeling judged is important for growing. How do you collaborate with colleagues and managers? I try to see everyone’s strengths and make sure we take advantage of them. We cannot expect everyone to understand each other’s tasks, but we need to respect them. All functions are needed to succeed, even if it’s answering the phone, paying our supplier’s invoices, or selling our products. What advice would you give to someone who wants to join the team? We are a team, and we help each other out, so don’t be afraid to ask for help if needed! Today marks seven months since I took on the role of manager at Dreamland, and what a journey it has been! This opportunity has allowed me to put my Project Management skills into practice. When I began, our processes and systems were inefficient, and we frequently received customer complaints. Important documents, check-in/check-out systems, safety protocols, and cleaning protocols were outdated and rarely followed. Determined to make a change, I implemented a new approach: - Delegated Tasks: Empowered team members to make decisions and take care of their own tasks. - Clear Procedures: Introduced task sheets and procedures that staff can follow, contribute to, and use to develop high performance habits. - Performance Tracking: Established a Google Sheet system where staff tick off completed tasks with their names, allowing me to track performance and use this data for raises and promotions. - Enhanced Safety: Introduced a wristband check-in/check-out system to ensure child safety. Only the adult with the matching wristband can pick up the child. This system also tracks playtime, occupancy, and product selection. These changes have significantly improved our efficiency and customer service. We’ve received 40 new 5-star reviews since January, boosting our Google rating from 4.5 to 4.8. Additionally, customer satisfaction and return rates have increased by 12%. Looking forward to continuing this journey and achieving even greater heights with the Dreamland team!

Joy is dependable, accountable and manages multiple tasks and deadlines with ease. Her positive attitude and ability to build trusting and engaging relationships across the organization is so appreciated and has a big impact on our collaborative team culture. Joy exemplifies the Hungerford values on a daily basis, and we thank her for all her contributions over the last 5 years. Q: What is your favourite part of your job? A: I love the people I work with and the enormous amount of autonomy I’m granted. I know my boss has my back 100% which allows me to do my job with confidence. I work with a group of talented, caring and supportive individuals, who come from all walks of life and have varying degrees of experience - I have learned so much from all of them. Q: What is your favourite thing to do on the weekends? A: SLEEP!!! I’m kind of joking. If the weather is bad, I love to curl up on the couch and binge watch my favorite TV shows/movie series and/or read a good book. If the weather is nice and the sun is out, I need to be outside. I’m either hiking, camping, playing beach volleyball/softball or just straight up suntanning. Q: What career advice would you give to your younger self? A: Try to work and surround yourself with people whose values align with your own. Gain as much experience and absorb as much information as you can from every job. Street knowledge is just as important as book knowledge and can’t be taught in a classroom – it only comes with experience. Also, success isn’t just measured by a salary and a title; it’s measured by who you are as a person and how you treat others. Never forget who you are, where you came from and the strength it took to get where you’re at. Q: What is a recent book or movie you would recommend? A: Everything Everywhere All at Once – it’s not recently released but it’s a movie that I would highly recommend. It’s weird, funny, action packed, emotionally charged; it’s a beautifully written/acted story about love and family. #MeettheTeam #HungerfordProperties
