Beware of this vastly growing problem: impostor accounts trying to obtain travelers’ personal information or money. How the interaction often occurs is the threat actor will create imposter accounts looking similar to the company they wish to imitate. They wait for a potential victim customer to post on social media towards the target company seeking customer help/support for whatever reason. Then they pounce. This is often referred to as “customer support fraud”. What to do? Be very wary if a brand contacts you. Instead reach out to them via their trusted customer support channels to validate the contact.
