“You may be familiar with the health benefits (both physical and mental) that gardening can provide you as an individual, but at least one type of gardening in particular has the potential to help all living beings on a global scale: pollinator gardening. Build a pollinator garden and not only will you create a beautiful green space that attracts everything from hummingbirds to monarch butterflies, but you’ll also contribute to fighting the climate crisis in a meaningful way. But what is a pollinator garden, and how do you create one?” @emmawebsta at @cnnunderscored Erika Allen, our Co-Founder, shares insights on how to create your own pollinator garden on CNN Underscored. https://lnkd.in/gFYwJTnf

Harvest Fest is around the corner (10/26) at the South Chicago Farm and we have a really incredible interactive art installation entitled “The Maze” being crafted onsite! The Maze (2011-2013) is a grass maze created by Moataz Nasr in various public spaces in and outside Europe. We will have volunteer opportunities to contribute to its construction listed on the website starting today! There will also be programming around the space at Harvest Fest so keep an eye out for announcements! Drone Photography 📸: Eric Perez #artonthefarm

Farm Director Malcolm Evans and Director of Operations Lauralyn Clawson stopped by the South Chicago Farm site to speak to our Youth Corp program about Market Pathways! They held a conversation with the class about how we prioritize what we sell and where we sell it. The youth had some inspired questions and comments that gave us plenty of hope! “You all are the next generation of farmers, the real future of this work.” -Malcolm Evans, Farm Director #youth #futuregrowers #marketpathways
