The solution lies within India. #Government must hold consultations with leading players and Industry stakeholders to prepare for these challenges that will cause additional capital outlays and add to operating, transaction cost to comply with the #CBAM regulations. Technology and system upgrading, #research, #innovation and strengthening of #ESG ecosystem might prepare our textile, garment and leather sector for similar challenges that might arise elsewhere apart from #EU. Industry need budgetary support. Higher level of technology, automation needed. #India must also put in place counter measures to regulate our market for imports from regions that have turned protectionist.
