A popular piece of advice is to find your passion and do what you love. This is usually the case for athletes who compete at the professional level. The issue with having a career as professional athlete is that at some point, your body can’t perform at a high level anymore and you’re forced to do something new. For most athletes I’ve talked to this transition to what’s next is super uncomfortable and scary. Many get depressed. Was kind of my experience as well. I think the reason is because we come from a career where the plan is straightforward. The objectives are clear. Progress is measurable. There is a team of support. Then it sort of all goes away. You’re kind of on your own, with no clear objective or plan. And you have no training to handle this. That’s where a place and team like South Park Commons comes in; everyone there is high performing in their field, driven and curious and open to figuring it out, together. I share some of my thoughts in this podcast. https://lnkd.in/gmiujZD4
