Pakistan's population has been a growing concern, with the country's population reaching over 250 million in 2023, making it the 5th most populous nation in the world. The population growth rate was reported to be 2.55% according to the 7th census report in August 2023. The State of World Population Report projected that Pakistan's population could reach 403 million by 2050. The rapid population growth has raised concerns about its impact on infrastructure, resources, and economic development. The report also highlighted the need for rights and choices, including universal access to sexual and reproductive health and rights, to address the population challenges. The digital landscape has also been influenced by this population growth, with significant mobile connections and digital adoption rates. They need Empathy
The population figers are alarming. Must note that age 65+ alone constitute 10% of total population. If we add 60+ as Old People in our population the numbers demand special attention. We all need to be little more responsible for our Elders.

The older populations in Africa are set to have an exponential rise. Are we ready for the demographic transition? Are our health systems, policies, housing plans, disability-accessible transportation systems in place? "The growth in the number of older Africans is set to exceed 200% in the next 30 years, far outstripping growth of older populations in other regions, especially Europe. It’s projected the older population of Europe, currently the world’s oldest region (25.5% ages 65 and over), will climb less than 30% in the same time span. The trajectory of the growth of Africa’s older adults is even more noteworthy. It’s projected Africa will be the only region to experience a consistent increase every successive decade between 2020 and 2050." Increases in Africa’s Older Population Will Outstrip Growth in Any Other World Region. Lawmakers and political advisors at local two sessions have made proposals to address the challenges brought about by the growing aging population in China. Suggestions include supporting high-skilled aged care professionals, providing home-based elderly care support services, and developing a pilot program for mutual support elderly care in rural areas. The State Council has unveiled a guideline to promote the development of the "silver economy," and experts believe that addressing elderly care issues from multiple perspectives and levels will produce significant effects. The focus of future social elderly care services in China is to establish a multi-level elderly care service system based on home care, supported by communities, with sufficient institutional support and the integration of medical and elderly care. #AsiaOperations #Demographics #China Follow us for daily updates on risk and operations in Asia! https://lnkd.in/gY5cFiyn
