Every year, we contact more than 3.5 million addresses across the country to participate in the #AmericanCommunitySurvey. Your responses generate #ACSdata that show how we live—our education, housing, jobs, and more. The ACS is the only source of local estimates for most of the 40-plus topics it covers. ▶️ https://lnkd.in/eCWRy934 #WeTheData

Dramatic population growth, poor asset management, rising community expectations, ambitious legislation and policy are just some of the reasons we are so far behind in delivering the infrastructure and services we would like. The price-tag excludes any chance of us having everything we want. So how do we prioritise well to get the best community outcomes, especially as central or local government when we're using other people's money? This is what I'll be workshopping with local government leaders on Thursday at the #LGNZ conference. If you're attending the conference, make sure you pop along to our workshop at 3pm on Thursday 22 Aug. #Economics #TradeOffs #Infrastructure #Community #OutcomesNotOutputs #CostCertainty #AlternativeFunding #DeliveryCertainty #OptimismBias #LGNZ #LocalGovernment
