To all my fellow veterans who have recently transitioned from military service—whether through SkillBridge or terminal leave—what insights do you wish you had considered during your transition? With recent changes to the SkillBridge program, I’m curious if some of you have found that opting for regular terminal leave might be a more straightforward path, avoiding the headaches of command approval and rank-based time constraints. I’d love to hear your thoughts and recommendations! What worked for you, and what would you suggest to those still navigating this transition?

I have to admit I have the best colleagues and friends around (not biased at all 😉 ). These women and other Airmen and Guardians just like them have kept their services afloat by serving as protocol officers, strategy experts, operational and tactical warriors, and so much more. Lucky for me, I have become friends with and gotten to know servicemembers outside of my first specialty, the tactical flying community. People from every profession in the military are necessary to keep us being the best, strongest, and most capable Air Force and Space Force on the planet. Have you reached out to someone outside your primary specialty today? Exploring different roles within the military can provide valuable insights into how diverse expertise enhances national and global security. #MilitaryService #NationalSecurity #DiversityInRoles

I have a few suggestions: 1. Rename the Stennis. Save people the moral injury of serving in a ship named for a die-hard racist. 2. Allow beards, and remove the stigma of having a medical waiver for PFB. 3. Add Respect to the Navy's Core Values. 4. None of these are difficult to do or hard to explain. Get busy.
