Ray of Light Bursts Through ‘18 Million Cracks’ Because President Joe Biden stepped out of the presidential race in July and Vice President Kamala Harris won the Democratic National Convention’s nomination for presidential candidate earlier this month, women across the United States finally saw a strong ray of light burst through one of the “18 million cracks” that former DNC presidential nominee, Hillary Clinton, put into the political glass ceiling in 2008 and 2016. “Although we weren't able to shatter that highest, hardest glass ceiling this time, thanks to you, it's got about 18 million cracks in it,” Hillary told throngs of women campaigners and voters after losing the 2008 primary to then-future President Barack Obama. “And the light is shining through like never before filling us all with the hope and the sure knowledge that the path will be a little easier next time.” The path is now before us. Sixteen years after Hillary, who served as former First Lady and New York Senator, the opportunity to elect the United States’ first woman president, Kamala, is upon us. Today is the first day of the Democratic National Convention in Chicago. Hillary is scheduled to speak. Will you be watching? Let Go Roam Tours know in the comments 👇 . Here’s my two cents about presidential candidate Kamala Harris. We can discuss on X-Spaces at 6 pm, CT. Endorsing Kamala Harris is the only option #Democrats had after spending more than a decade racializing the country. Their actions have set minorities back 60 years. Elevating Kamala is a desperate move. Democrats are counting on three things: (1) blacks casting a racially motivated vote for a group member; (2) energizing pro-abortion white women; (3) and lastly, white men in the Republican Party shrinking back from attacking a black woman. Republicans should treat Kamala Harris and other Biden #DEI appointee as equals. Kamala’s background and rise to power and the Biden Administration’s record are fair game. #KamalaHarris2024 #Biden2024 #Trump2024

The power of polling... For the first time, Clifford and his team tested a possible Michelle Obama Vs Trump matchup. And the result is interesting. "Once you know something, you can't unknow it". More in the New Ipsos / Reuters national poll: Should Biden drop out? How do other Dems match up against Trump? There is much to unpack: 1. No change in Biden/Trump vote match up (40%/40%). 2. Harris /Trump the same (42%/43%). Dead even. 3. 56% of Americans and about 1/3 of Dems think Biden should drop out. 4. Michelle Obama beats Trump (50%/39%) 5. All other Dems lose to Trump. Name recognition drives this.

Regardless of your opinion on Vice President Kamala Harris or your political affiliation, I encourage you to take three minutes to watch this video of Harris questioning Brett Kavanaugh during his Senate hearing. Afterward, consider this question: "Can you think of any laws that give the government the power to make decisions about the male body?" Kavanaugh's exact response was: "I am not thinking of any right now." Meanwhile, an excerpt from JD Vance's 2022 #FoxNews interview where he suggested that VP Harris is one of "a bunch of childless cat ladies, who are miserable at their own lives" has resurfaced and sparked debate. This quote highlights an important question: Has the Trump campaign's VP candidate considered that "childless cat ladies" still vote in this country? Can these voters, in good conscience, support the vision proposed by the Trump/Vance ticket? It can be asserted that successfully blending a family and stepping into a step-parent role, which is what Kamala Harris has done successfully in her own personal life, requires exactly the kind of skills needed to lead a divided nation. Diminishing the value of women who have not had biological children (out of choice or health reasons) is counterproductive and does not help the country's progress. Pitting women with children against women who don't have them is hardly going to save our #democracy. Empathy—the ability to put ourselves in another's shoes—is not just a principle of the golden rule but a cornerstone of democracy itself. Whether you like VP Kamala Harris or not, whether you're a Democrat or a Republican (or, perhaps, an Independent), please think about this. #KamalaHarris #womensupportingwomen #democracy #elections #JDVance #femaleleadership

“Our purpose now is to reclaim Democracy itself. We are here to affirm that when Americans stand up and speak their minds and say "America can/must do better", that is not a challenge to patriotism; it is the heart and soul of patriotism.” - John Kerry MAGA US Supreme Court: “Whenever the legislators endeavor to take away and destroy the property of the people, or to reduce them to slavery under arbitrary power, they put themselves into a state of war with the people, who are thereupon absolved from any further obedience ...” - John Locke 1690 "Bad men cannot make good citizens. A vitiated state of morals, a corrupted public conscience are incompatible with freedom." - Patrick Henry "America will never be destroyed from the outside. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has once again secured her position as a leading progressive voice in Congress by winning the Democratic primary for a fourth term in New York's 14th district, which includes Elmhurst, Jackson Heights, Astoria, and parts of the Bronx. Ocasio-Cortez decisively defeated moderate challenger Marty Dolan, garnering over 82% of the vote compared to Dolan's 18%. This victory demonstrates her strong support among the district's diverse electorate, particularly among working-class and immigrant communities. Ocasio-Cortez, a prominent member of the progressive "Squad," framed her primary win as a triumph for progressive policies and the district's working people. Her victory was anticipated, given her previous electoral successes and the lack of significant competition. She is set to face Republican Tina Forte in the upcoming general election, a rematch from 2022, where Ocasio-Cortez won by a substantial margin. In the days leading up to the primary, Ocasio-Cortez took a firm stance on international issues, including a strong denunciation of Israel over the conflict in Gaza. She criticized pro-Israel donors and the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) for their financial efforts to defeat progressive Democrats like Rep. Jamaal Bowman. Ocasio-Cortez first made headlines in 2018 when she unseated then-Rep. Joe Crowley, a powerful figure in the Democratic Party, signaling a shift towards more progressive representation. Her consistent advocacy for progressive policies and her ability to mobilize grassroots support have made her a formidable force in American politics. Meanwhile, first-term Rep. Dan Goldman also successfully defended his seat in the NY-10 district, which covers lower Manhattan and parts of Brooklyn, against progressive challenger Evan Hutchinson, solidifying his position for reelection. Ocasio-Cortez gained national attention in 2018 with her unexpected victory over Joe Crowley. She continues to advocate for progressive causes, resonating with a diverse and working-class constituency. Her victory reaffirms the influence of the progressive wing within the Democratic Party. #AOC #ProgressivePolitics #NY14 #DemocraticPrimary #Elections2024 #GrassrootsMovement #PoliticalVictory #Congress #NYPolitics https://lnkd.in/eFTXmC2A

Joined #cgtn World Insight with Tian Wei and Democratic Communications Strategist Spencer Critchley to discuss the #dnc and the US presidential campaigns. Some talking points: Hillary Clinton spoke of a glass ceiling for women being broken with Harris' rise Could this help the campaign or backfire? It's important to trot out the old warhorses to show the party has indeed rallied around Harris despite the strange circumstances of her nomination, and Obama certainly didn't hurt her; but I don't think a lot of swing voters were happy to see Clinton, Biden or Jesse Jackson. One of the slogans for the night was "no going back," meaning no return to Trump, and this message was undermined in part by some of these figures. On the one hand identity politics is a cornerstone of US society and politics, and both parties play this game. On the other hand, both also say it shouldn’t matter and point fingers at each other for emphasizing race and gender... We must recall that Clinton lost college-educated women voters against Trump despite his rather sordid and well-known history with women, so we can’t say that gender was a compelling issue then for many women. The key difference now is there's a new generation of voters and many are unhappy with a #trump #ussc that overturned Roe v. Wade, and many believe he's guilty of sexual assault. So while Clinton will reinforce the gender argument while also painting her own failed candidacy as a victim of patriarchy--dubious--the deeper issue is probably not Harris' gender but whether enough women believe Trump is a danger to their well-being. The numbers favor #harris presently. Both parties are keen for labor #union support. Who's winning? Trump’s populism has made significant inroads with union workers, particularly his narratives about reshoring jobs and rectifying trade imbalances, especially with #china. Biden’s record on labor is better that Trump’s but hardly stellar, and trade imbalances under Biden have worsened again. It’s not surprising many unions are lining up again at the DNC. The question is whether voters, including union workers, see unions as part of problem or solution. While both major parties have moved to the right since the Clinton presidency, unions have generally accommodated Democrats as the lesser of two evils. This still seems to be holding to some extent, but it's no guarantee of votes on Election Day. What are the chances of a debate? Who'd benefit the most? Harris definitely wants one, but will probably have to accept conditions imposed by Trump, including his preferred network, host and format. Trump is a poor debater but can be an effective performer against a weak opponent. That said, he lost against Clinton in 2016, he lost against Biden in 2020. It’s a mistake to say he defeated Biden this year; better to say Biden was past his prime. Harris can debate effectively and would bait Trump’s worst instincts, which might play well with his base but not among swing voters.

Ms Harris, 59, has faced years of doubt from some within her party about her ability to run for America’s highest political office - including from President Joe Biden, the man whom she continues to serve as vice-president. All what you should know about current vice-president of USA Kamala Harris is stated in this article. After failing in a short-lived presidential bid in 2019, she began her vice-presidency on a shaky footing, beset by stumbles in high-profile interviews, staff turnover and low approval ratings. And for the last three-and-a-half years in the White House she has struggled to break through to American voters. Now Ms Harris, 59, is facing the most important challenge in her life. Democratic National Convention in Chicago starts on Monday with all top officials including former Presidents Obama & Clinton. President Joe Biden will have his farewell last speech at such convention. Most likely emotional and will once again fully support Kamala Harris. She must perform in a perfect way to ensure a successful campaigning for winning presidential election. At the same time, she’ll have to prove that she is capable of leading a party that never saw her as its natural leader and remains divided over the war in Israel and Gaza. Former President Donald Trump will make the hardest possible for Ms Harris and will fight to the very last days using all available resources & arguments against her. It will be a “knife edge fight“ between Trump & Harris as well as between all American voters so much divided as never before. Neck to neck with minimal difference at the end of the election day. A lot may happen in the next 75 days in local American electorate affairs also on international politics which may play very important part towards both candidates. Furthermore one turning point in campaigning will be the face to face debate on 10 September organised by NBC News Tv national network. Personal performance on this day will be a key strategic factor for taking the advantage in the presidential contest. Donald Trump has by far more experience in such events - live TV debates and overall impressive results giving him the better ratings than any opponents.
