🤔Choosing Your Recruiter💼 As a candidate, you may be inundated with calls from recruiters, some offering you the same opportunities. And when you're looking for work it's easy to say yes to everyone. So how can you get the most out of the service recruiters provide? Pick the ones who are good at their job. Here's how you find them: What questions do they ask you? Are they covering standard information and moving on, or are they having a detailed conversation and thoroughly understanding your experience? What information do they give you? Do you come away from the call understanding the business and the opportunity they presented? Do they get you? Are you having a conversation that flows naturally? Did you find common ground? A good recruiter will want to understand the people they represent and if you get that impression you are in safe hands. Stick with that individual. Let them bring you the opportunities and manage your job search for you. It'll make your life easier and deliver better quality to your job hunt. 🚨 𝐓𝐄𝐍 𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐎𝐍𝐒 𝐓𝐎 𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐊 𝐖𝐈𝐓𝐇 𝐌𝐄 𝐎𝐕𝐄𝐑 𝐎𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑 𝐑𝐄𝐂𝐑𝐔𝐈𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐒 🚨 1. I wont send you resumes from indeed or career builder 2. I wont send you anyone that has multiple jobs over multiple years (I say at least three to five years tenure at their current firm) 3. I UNDERSTAND THE POSITION I AM RECRUITING! I can guarantee your other recruiters are working multiple roles across multiple industries. How can someone who is working a IT, Marketing and HR assistant positions one day be equipped enough to understand the level of technicality in a Automation Engineering position the next? They don't, ask them what a PLC means 4. My day starts at 8:30 and finishes at 6:30. That's 10 hours a day, everyday speaking to people in your industry... you better believe I got the gossip on your competitors. 5. I work North/South Carolina specifically, I am not stretched thin and I am completely embedded in your market (If you have an need elsewhere please still reach out I can connect you with the specialist in that location) 6. I have proven successes with the most reputable companies in this business and have multiple placements with Americas leading integrators such as Wood PLC, Wunderlich Malec, ProMach, Lord & Company, AE Solutions, Grantek.. the list goes on 7. I work with passive candidates, meaning I prioritize going out and finding the skillset you need opposed to just sending you engineers available on the market 8. I spend 30 minutes clearing a candidate for the company and the role before I send over the resume for review 9. I would never send over a resume where the candidate did not give me permission to share it with your team specifically 10. Detailed Process Management (candidates push & pull factors, Interview tracking/scheduling, counter offer preparation, post placement care etc) Please see my credentials attached - If you want to grab an informal conversation on the type of resumes you need then please reach out. 📧 megan.hoey@lviassociates.com 📞 +1 704 247 5992 #automationengineering #systemintegration #controlengineering #projectmanagement #industrialautomation #management #executiverecruiter #technicalrecruiter #northcarolina #southcarolina #plcprogramming #allenbradley #siemenstia #businessdevelopment

🧐 Uncovering a Candidate's True Expertise: A Valuable Tip for Hiring Managers 💡 When seeking the right talent for your team, it's crucial to go beyond resumes and cover letters. A well-structured question-and-answer session can reveal a candidate's depth of knowledge and problem-solving skills. 🧠 For instance, in the field of industrial automation, consider asking: If you had to select a PLC processor for a specific machine, what factors would you consider? 🤔 This open-ended prompt encourages candidates to showcase their expertise beyond mere technical specifications. 💻 A candidate with a superficial understanding might simply mention the number of inputs and outputs. 🤷♀️ A more experienced candidate, on the other hand, might delve into considerations like: Safety features incorporated into the PLC 🔒 Geographic location of the machine's operation 🌍 Availability of technical support and spare parts 🛠️ Compatibility with existing machinery ⚙️ By carefully analyzing their responses, you can gain valuable insights into their expertise and suitability for the role. 🕵️♀️🕵️♂️ So, next time you're interviewing a candidate, don't hesitate to dig deeper. Ask those thought-provoking questions that reveal their true capabilities. ✨ #hiringtips #candidateselection #expertevaluation #industrialautomation #PLCs #problemsolving 💡🧠

Follow us for more insights. Are you finding the talent you need when you need them? According to a recent survey of 481 unemployed job hunters, many are taking longer to find their next job while also sending out fewer applications. One reason they point out is the lack of clarification in job descriptions. Some applicants feel intimidated with the number of requirements for a position they know they can do. Also, employers do not know what they are looking for in candidates. A lot of the time employers know what the role is, but after getting input from managers and team members, the job description turns into a wish list rather than a true job description. Ensuring manufacturers hire best-in-class automation engineering and leadership talent || President @ HireNetwork
Reasons the best engineering talent keeps accepting jobs at large industrial automation companies, even though smaller firms are fantastic places to work… 👇 -The brand recognition. They want to say, "I work for Rockwell/Siemens/ABB/Emerson," when they're networking in the industry. -Salary. Bigger companies often (but definitely not always) offer more competitive compensation packages. -Large corporations have extensive budgets for advertising job openings and conducting university outreach. -Top candidates often aren't aware of the opportunities at smaller firms because those firms haven't reached out to them. -They don't realize they could have more diverse responsibilities and greater influence on projects at a smaller company. Competing for talent with large industrial automation companies by simply posting job ads or assuming candidates will stumble upon your website is a losing strategy. However, partnering with a recruiter who specializes in attracting the best engineers to small & midsize automation firms will give you a competitive advantage.
