Empowering Europe's Net-Zero Future with Low-Carbon Hydrogen Low-carbon hydrogen can significantly reduce emissions in Europe by replacing current H2 uses in oil refineries and ammonia synthesis, which account for 2.5% of EU-27 emissions.  Key sectors like transportation, steel, and long-duration energy storage stand to benefit immensely.  By 2030, technologies like alkaline (ALK) and proton exchange membrane (PEM) will be crucial.
