The sport bidding process is a complex and competitive process through which cities and countries compete to host major sporting events like the Olympics, World Cups, and other international tournaments. The process typically involves a thorough evaluation of the bidding cities' infrastructure, facilities, transportation, accommodation, and financial capabilities. One current trend in the sport bidding process is a growing emphasis on sustainability and legacy. Host cities are now expected to demonstrate a commitment to minimizing the environmental impact of the event and leaving a positive, lasting legacy for the local community. This includes utilizing existing venues and infrastructure whenever possible, investing in renewable energy solutions, and promoting social and economic development. Another trend is the increasing importance of technology in the bidding process. Bidding cities are expected to present innovative and technologically advanced solutions that enhance the overall fan experience, improve event operations, and provide seamless connectivity for participants and spectators. Furthermore, there is an ongoing discussion about the cost and financial impact of hosting major sporting events. Some critics argue that the bidding process has become overly expensive and financially burdensome for host cities. As a result, there is a growing trend towards implementing more cost-effective and sustainable event hosting models, such as shared or regional hosting, to distribute the financial responsibility and maximize the use of existing infrastructure. Overall, the sport bidding process is evolving to prioritize sustainable development, technological advancements, and responsible financial management. These trends reflect a shift towards more inclusive and responsible hosting practices that have a positive impact beyond the duration of the event itself.

Founder & Web Development Specialist at Creative Baguette 🥖 | Empowering Businesses with Results-Driven Web Solutions 📈 | Australian Athlete 🤾♀️
What is Handball? 🤾♀️ When most people in Australia hear "handball," they often think of the four-square game played in schoolyards. Nope, that's not the one I'm talking about. The one I'm talking about has an emoji!🤾♀️ Handball, the one I played professionally for many years, is an incredible, fast-paced team sport that’s part of the Olympic Games and is currently being played in Paris. The beach version is also being showcased at Paris 2024, with the hope that it becomes a permanent sport in the Olympic schedule in the coming years. Both are awesome sports that, unfortunately, don’t get enough coverage here in Australia. What are the basics? Handball combines elements of basketball, soccer, and netball. It’s played indoors with teams of seven players, where the goal is to score by throwing the ball into the opposing team's net. The game requires agility, strength, and teamwork – making it as thrilling to watch as it is to play. If you want another explanation, check out the awesome video Jimmy Rees OAM has created👇 Even though I now also play the beach version, the traditional indoor handball remains close to my heart. Check both sports out now - Handball on 9Now and Beach Handball on YouTube via the IHF Competitions page. #handball #paris2024 #olympicsport #teamwork #sports #athletelife #beachhandball #australiansport

The set-up in the arena. Precondition for top handball. But before the set-up is complete, some work is necessary - my job as TIS-Manager at the EHF Men's EURO 2024 in Berlin and Hamburg. Coordinating the individual processes, adhering to the planned schedules. A game of dominoes - if the first stone falls, the process starts and all the others fall too. The goal: great handball sport in the arena and on television. A perfect TV picture. Months before the first match, the camera positions in the arena are determined. High camera platform? Steep stands? The circumstances are different in every arena. Why all of this? The next steps depend on. The set-up can start. The first domino is the sports floor. A wooden subfloor is laid on the concrete floor of the arena. This ensures that all the equipment is on the same level. This subfloor also serves as cushioning for the players. Up to 1,800m2 must be accurately covered. Time required? Several hours are needed. As soon as the subfloor is finished, the actual sports floor begins. A mobile Taraflex Evolution floor from Gerflor was used at the EHF EURO. Even the delivery and storage is a challenge. ...over 40 lanes each at least 20m long and 1.5m wide ...each lane weighs approx. 135 kg, the complete sports floor weighs over 5.5 tons ...a storage area of approx. 70m2 is required The sports floor is laid by professionals. They do the job at top events worldwide. Highly precise geometry for exact positioning. The main camera is the anchor! It must be positioned at the level of the center line and must capture the outer line next to the substitution area. The sports floor is then laid out for at least 8 hours. To acclimatize to the room temperature, which should be between 15°C and 18°C. The individual lanes are then positioned with precision and glued to the subfloor. The final step are the pitch markings, which are applied manually using tape. The first and largest domino has fallen. Now the next dominoes follow - the goals and the safety nets, the LED board, the floor stickers, the substitution area. Work processes that can take place in parallel on the sports floor. The installation of the complete set-up takes up to 72 hours in total. More on this soon... #handball #sport #ehfeuro2024 #ehf #sportevent #sportsfloor #gerflor #setup #sportevent #event

Modern handball is played on a court of 40 by 20 metres (131 by 66 ft), with a goal in the middle of each end. The goals are surrounded by a 6-metre (20 ft) zone where only the defending goalkeeper is allowed; goals must be scored by throwing the ball from outside the zone or while "diving" into it. The sport is usually played indoors, but outdoor variants exist in the forms of field handball, Czech handball (which were more common in the past) and beach handball. The game is fast and high-scoring: professional teams now typically score between 20 and 35 goals each, though lower scores were not uncommon until a few decades ago. Body contact is permitted for the defenders trying to stop the attackers from approaching the goal. No protective equipment is mandated, but players may wear soft protective bands, pads and mouth guards. #snsinstitutions #snsdesignthinkers #designthinking

Handball Fever in Germany: A Lesson for Sales What's new in the world of handball? The game has become more athletic and faster, pushing the boundaries of speed and agility. However, with this increased pace, the frequency of mistakes has also risen. This raises an interesting question: Can a game be too fast? My answer is yes. While there are natural limits to speed, the mastery of ball control knows no bounds. Those who can control the game under immense pressure are the true masters of their craft. This concept has a direct parallel in sales. You can know everything about your product, visit numerous customers, and send hundreds of proposals, but if you're not asking the right questions, listening, and understanding the needs of your conversation partner, your chances of success are slim. While AI may eventually master the first points, the essence of conversation will remain human, provided we grasp the basics. So, who will be the European handball champion? It will be the team that not only masters ball control but also knows how to play at the right pace for each situation while making the fewest mistakes. Handball is cool, and so is selling! Let's learn from the game and apply these lessons to our sales strategies. _______________ #Handball #SalesStrategy #Teamwork #AthleticExcellence #BusinessLessons (Foto: picture alliance/dpa)
