Ahead of Kamala Harris' speech at the Democratic National Convention, I talked to young Democrats in Chicago who shared their visions about the party's future, and whether Harris' campaign is resonating with young voters. #Elections2024#DNC#DNC2024
I think always we should be pushing for progress. And I think a lot of young people wanna hear from party leaders that they're going to be able to grow up and have families and feel supportive and be able to have affordable housing, affordable healthcare and inclusivity. And I think that we see that now, making sure that we are touching and checking the boxes across all platforms as far as inclusivity and making sure that we are making. Good investments through our budget, through our federal budget, through our state budget, through our local budgets that really invest in the community, bring back taxpayer dollars to tax resale benefit them years down the line. Climate, we're going to have to focus more on climate change, making sure that all people are loved and welcomed and appreciated and that leads to a prosperous economy and a happy, healthy society. No, I think actually picking the vice president was listening to younger voters and I think we've seen from the way the vice president. Box the way that her campaign has been communicating with voters, she is listening to young people. As a young Latina myself, I think that that's a really big demographic that the Democratic Party should really weigh into. We have a lot of voices and sometimes they're not picked up as well or we're not putting our efforts into those communities. Once Kamala entered the race, I mean, you just saw like a complete turnaround. Like now all of a sudden people are very enthusiastic.
