Juneteenth On June 19, 1865, Galveston, Texas, held a momentous celebration of freedom. Despite the Civil War's conclusion on April 9, 1865, slavery persisted in various states, with Texas being the final Confederate state to abolish the practice. The 135th US Colored Troops, which included my great-grandfather, played a pivotal role in paving the way for General Sherman's journey to Texas. September 11, 2024 The border crisis has been moved, by the Biden/Harris Administration, across America to your state where your state tax dollars will have to deal with all the medical, hospital, educational, housing, crime and other costs for the millions of illegals. An army of terrorist “gotaways” are now in America. An estimated 100,000 gotaways a month, 1,200,000 a year. Are they criminals, sex predators, mentally ill, human traffickers, gang members, drug cartel members, terrorists or sleeper cells? An army of terrorists now in America will make the 911 World Trade Center look like a warm-up and no one is paying attention! Only 19 terrorists to take out the World Trade Center and we have over one million, per year, “gotaways” that crossed the border. Just think what 190,000 terrorists will be able to do. The border and America are not secure. Our cities are not safe. America is not safe.

The next book on the #reading list for January: The Commanders by Lloyd Clark. Rommel, Montgomery, and Patton were larger-than-life personalities and incredibly successful military #leaders. However, each of them suffered significant failures of their own doing. Was it ego? Was it hubris? Was it a lack of self-awareness or an inability to self-reflect? It's always fascinating to dig into the #why behind the decisions people make, to understand #how their decision-making processes lead them to make the choices they do, to explore #when cognitive biases influence our ability to see clearly when it matters most.
