Today, Kamala Harris and Donald Trump will meet for the first time in a presidential debate. And that's what I discuss in an unprecedented episode on the g1 podcast: O Assunto, led by Natuza Nery. Listen firsthand here: https://lnkd.in/e5VRBSva This meeting, less than two months before voting day, means that the Democrat and Republican seek the vote of a polarized electorate. Even though polls show Kamala slightly ahead of the former president in total votes, the scenario is still one of total uncertainty. What we can ascertain is that both are virtually tied in the 7 swing states, which are decisive on the path to the White House. Another key factor in this conversation I had with Natuza Nery is about Kamala's advantage in the electoral polls, which has disappeared. Following everything here closely together with my Zaftra Fund powered by Gauss Capital team, I indicated which will be the most important aspects of the presidential debate between both candidates and which everyone should pay close attention to. Listen to the podcast and share it among your colleagues to stay up to date with the Road to the White House. #KamalaHarris #DonaldTrump #DisputePolitics #ElectionsAmericans

https://lnkd.in/dKYNSaEG Dear All, in our latest 'The Contest: 2024' podcast, John Goodnight and I look at some startling new presidential polling, showing Joe Biden struggling to maintain even majority support with young voters. As always in political risk, the only question that really matters is 'why?' Here we unpack the reasons and the Biden team's increasingly likely demise. Enjoy.

There are a few seats left for this upcoming event, which is free to attend. This should be a great conversation, and for those who see the term trauma and immediately think, "No, thanks." let me just say that the empowerment and hope that come from Lee's journey of discovery of his family's history are why I think you might want to be there. And if you can't, check out the podcast.
Don’t miss a chance to attend this upcoming (free) event! On Wednesday, May 22, at the MN History Center, esteemed veteran journalist and North St. Paul HS alum Lee Hawkins, Jr. will be in conversation with the wonderful Angela Davis of MPR. The two will discuss his new podcast, “What Happened In Alabama?”(produced by APM), and his forthcoming book, “Nobody’s Slave: How Uncovering My Family’s History Set Me Free. ” Both projects began with Lee’s deep childhood curiosity about his beloved father, Lee Roy Hawkins Sr., who grew up in Alabama during the 1950s and moved to the Rondo neighborhood of Saint Paul as a teenager. What he learned inspired him to explore his family's 400-year journey in America, shedding light on how it was impacted intergenerationally by America's history of enslavement and Jim Crow segregation. By creating this narrative to understand his own family better and through engaging storytelling, the journey ultimately includes hope and healing. There will be an opportunity for audience participation as well. **A diverse audience will make for a more robust conversation. ** There are a few seats left– reserve your ticket today. https://lnkd.in/gaEsW2qS

Robert F Kennedy Jr - Independent party Presidential candidate. It’s time to have more candidates than just the two from the Democratic and Republican parties. What I like about him is that he wants to end continuous wars, improve health for all, and reduce government spending. Listen to him on Joe Rogan or the All-In Podcast to learn more.

I am always surprised by how many people enjoyed the Western Way of War podcast: it was pretty niche but - for some reason - people liked it. When we started, Ewan Lawson and I always joked about "both listeners"; it now has nearly a million downloads. I never could figure out the reason: theories about the pandemic and lock-downs were popular and probably have a lot of validity. After we ended the show there was peculiar demand from listeners to have more on the topic. In trying to pen anything interesting that hadn't been said already - even with the luxury of time and perspective - I found myself struggling to express some of the ideas better than the guests had done in various episodes (this shouldn't be a surprise - we always tried to select guests with something unusual, interesting or original to say). As a result, we have ended up with a series of essays from various contributors to the show from over the years. It is surprising how some of their ideas have dated and some have stayed true (remember we recorded this pre 2022 when - apparently - everything changed: Georgia (2008), Crimea and Donbas (2014), et al are usually disregarded in this reimagining* of recent history). So there is a book coming out soon and is available to pre-order now: author royalties going to Cancer Research UK. If it's your thing (and I get that it won't be for lots of people), then I would urge you to get a copy direct from the publishers (Howgate Publishing) rather than other suppliers. In doing so, you really support a small, boutique and important community that is focused entirely on military works. That's rare today and something we shouldn't lose. Buy it, dont buy it, whatever, but do look at Howgate's collection of publications related to national security. Some really great authors on there too: Jim Storr, Steve Tatham Ph.D., and (huge excitement) both Amos Fox, Ph.D. and Paddy Walker each have one coming out over the next few months. *'Reimagining' is the new buzz phrase in UK military circles and is likely to feature in the next (yawn) Strategic Defence Review. Get your conference bingo sheets updated.
