Navigating the Journey of Dementia Caregiving: You’re Not Alone Caring for someone with Alzheimer’s or dementia is an emotional journey, marked by both moments of connection and overwhelming challenges. With over 16 million caregivers in the US alone, the journey can feel isolating, yet it’s vital to remember that you’re not alone. While caregiving can be consuming, prioritizing your own well-being is crucial. Seeking support from caregiver groups, therapy, or respite care can provide invaluable resources and resilience. Remember, your dedication makes a profound difference in your loved one’s life, but it’s equally important to prioritize your own health and happiness along the way. #DementiaCaregiving #Support #YouAreNotAlone #HealthAndWellbeing #AlzheimersAwareness GetInTheBoatBook.com

As many of you may know, my husband Bart has been living with Alzheimer’s for the last seven years. He is now in the final stage of this devastating disease. Nothing prepares a spouse or family member for the physical exhaustion and emotional and mental roller coaster that they experience while caregiving. Many books focus on how to care for a loved one and avoid burnout. None have focused on how the caregiver can grow and thrive during caregiving. This is why I wrote my new book “The Empowered Caregiver’s Guide to Dementia.” This book provides the insights and techniques to help caregivers discover peace, resilience, and even gratitude while caregiving and envision a joyful and fruitful life after their loved one is gone. Please click the link below to get a copy of the book for you or someone you know who may be struggling as they care for a loved one with dementia. https://lnkd.in/e7vqWd55
