The result of that shorter life cycle means we can expect more than a million tons of solar panels to reach end-of-life by 2030. That’s not only a lot of glass; that’s also a lot of valuable raw materials that can be reclaimed for the circular economy. Can solar panels be recycled??? This is most common question which comes in mind when it comes to solar, for this Ganymede has: Material Recovery Partnerships: Ganymede partners with recycling facilities to recover valuable materials like silicon, aluminum, and glass from decommissioned modules. This helps minimize waste and reduce demand for new raw materials. Design for Recycling: Ganymede’s modules are designed with recyclability in mind, using modular and easily separable components to simplify the recovery of materials, contributing to a circular economy in the solar industry. Customer Buyback Programs: Ganymede is developing a buyback program for decommissioned modules, enabling customers to return old panels for recycling or refurbishment. This supports Ganymede’s commitment to sustainability and reduces environmental impact by extending the lifecycle of raw materials. #december #christmas #winter #love #christmastree #merrychristmas #christmastime #xmas #snow #holidays #photography #instagram #santaclaus #happy #picoftheday #newyear #november #noel #renewablepower #solar #power #usa #UnitedStates #Energy #EcoInnovation #fypシ゚viralシfypシ゚viralシalシ

**The End of One Journey, the Start of Another: Solar Panel Recycling in Action** At www.GreenClean-Solar.com we’re committed to ensuring solar energy remains sustainable, even at the end of a panel’s lifecycle. This truckload of solar panels is heading to a recycling facility—one step closer to being responsibly disassembled and repurposed. Here’s how the process works: 1️⃣ **Assessment & Sorting**: Panels are inspected upon arrival. Any reusable parts, like frames or intact glass, are separated for repurposing. 2️⃣ **Disassembly**: Panels are carefully dismantled to separate key components: aluminum frames, tempered glass, wiring, silicon cells, and junction boxes. 3️⃣ **Material Recycling**: - **Aluminum frames** are smelted and reused in new products. - **Glass** (about 80% of a panel) is cleaned and processed into new glass products or fiberglass. - **Silicon wafers** are refined and reused in new solar panels or other products. - **Copper wiring and connectors** are recycled into raw materials for various industries. Our goal is to recycle as much as possible, reducing waste and supporting a circular economy in renewable energy. Every panel represents an opportunity to protect our planet and make solar energy even greener. ♻️🌏 If you want you panels picked up call or text 770-229-7168. Let’s ensure that sustainability doesn’t stop when the sun sets on a system’s life cycle! 🌅 #SolarRecycling #Sustainability #GreenCleanSolar #RenewableEnergy

Earth Day was first “officially” established in 1970, designating April 22nd as day for increased awareness of environmental issues. BLUESHAPE acknowledges Earth Day 2024 not with a sale or discount but with actual action to benefit the planet. Here are a few steps we have taken. The BLUESHAPE factory has been fully solar-powered since January 2023, with real-time data available at www.blueshape.net/netzero. (Close to 300,000 tons of CO2 have been avoided through the use of solar power.) The amount of power generated ABOVE that needed for the factory is used by the local grid, providing enough power for 45 homes. Waste from manufacturing is being addressed. Electronics go to an electronics recycling center while lithium-ion cells are sent to a licensed facility for recycling and/or disposal. Other materials are included with the “normal” recyclables. Packaging and shipping have also been changed for environmental reasons. Individual batteries are no longer protected by Styrofoam; instead, corrugated paper (cardboard to many) is used as it recycles more easily. The inner plastic bag required by law is made from recycled plastic. Shipments have been consolidated to minimize the fuel used for transport. Product materials and construction are chosen for the least environmental impact. Our products, including batteries, are screwed together to allow servicing rather than using the less costly method of welding. Our employees, including the ones designated as the environmental committee, will continue to look for improvements and better alternatives. We welcome input from our users and others as to how we can work together to participate in and promote environmental protection and sustainability. For ideas of what you can do for the environment, visit www.earthday.org.

𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐆𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬 𝐥𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐮𝐩𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐧𝐞𝐭 𝐳𝐞𝐫𝐨 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐲 British Glass has shared an update on the UK glass industry’s route to net zero, publishing the latest progress since its 2021 release. The updated report provides an in-depth review of the industry’s progress on its journey to achieving #netzero carbon emissions. It highlights the advancements since 2020/2021 and details the sector’s #carbon reduction efforts. The report also provides an update on the status of policy recommendations, highlighting the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. First published in 2021, the glass sector net zero strategy laid out a roadmap for the UK glass industry to achieve net zero by 2050. This latest progress report acknowledges developments in low-carbon #technologies, #energy availability, and #decarbonisation commitments across the sector. As #glass is an essential material for a low-carbon economy, used in applications such as #renewable energy systems, transport, and building insulation, the sector plays a critical role in supporting carbon reduction efforts in other industries. The progress update reveals that many UK glass #manufacturers are now in the process of implementing detailed investment plans to support their decarbonisation goals. However, these goals depend heavily on government policies that encourage low-carbon energy solutions, #recycling innovations, and funding for #research and development. See the comments for the full article, which includes a link to the full report.
