Global Talent Acquisition 📊 Corporate Club Winner 🏆 Top 25% Recruiters on LinkedIn 🚀 Employer Branding & DEI Champion 📣
I've hired over 30 sales pro's over the past few months. Here is what they all had in common ⬇ ✅ They are curious and adapt to dynamic environments. ✅ They are clear and committed to their goals. ✅ They use objection and rejection and turn it into opportunity. ✅ They want to be successful and help building collective success. ✅ They are open to learn quick, seek feedback and are coachable. ✅ They are team players. What they don't have in common: ✖ Location ✖ Educational background ✖ Professional background ✖ Ethnicity or culture ✖ Experience in the field ✖ Hobbies Diversity in selection is key. Understanding that non-traditional backgrounds can generate sometimes better qualified talent is also important in the long run. Ultimately is down to how you prepare, deliver and qualify yourself through each round of the hiring process as long as you meet the requirements and specifics of each role. 🌍 If you're looking for the next opportunity in your career and want to be part of the mission to shape the future of work, check the career link in the comments and filter based on department and region. #hiring #interviews #careers #futureofwork

As a Sales person when you receive an approach about a new opportunity that may further your career how inquisitive are you being? Many Sales professionals are inquisitive in nature but for some reason this stops when they are qualifying opportunities for themselves. If you got an incoming lead through would you just reply to it with a closed question and kill the conversation? Or would your aim to be to try and discover more information? Do you ask what attracted the hiring manager or recruiter to your profile? Do you try to find out what a career path could look like in the particular industry you were approached about? Do you try to find out what level of remuneration your peers are currently receiving? Do you try to find out how long it can take to further your career in your current industry? Do you try to find out what industries are booming and what ones are dying? Or do you just respond with: If it doesn't meet X or Y i'm not interested? Always be inquisitive especially when someone wants to discuss your career with them. You will get a far greater picture of where you can take your career. #sales #hiring #salesrecruitment

A Job Search is Sales Job searching really is sales. You're selling yourself...You're the product! I have a background in over 20 years in sales and sales leadership. When I was on a job search, my very first time, I quickly realized that what worked for me were processes that I pulled from my sales history and my sales background. That was really insightful to me, and I started teaching that to non-salespeople way back in 2016. I had to use that again when I was laid off in 2020 during the pandemic and I refined and added to it. I noticed that all the same sales techniques worked, but then I developed new techniques under that high pressure 2020 pandemic layoff timeframe. I've continued to revise this, to work with people and teach them these techniques. National Recruiting Manager Hiring Sales, Client Success & Marketing Talent ┃ 2023 Top 25% of LinkedIn Recruiters
What backgrounds do great salespeople come from? Having recruited corporate #sales professionals for 5 years, here are 3 unexpected career paths that I see translate well into a career in sales + WHY: Police Officers 👮 - ability to manage high levels of stress, especially during high-stakes conversations - have been trained in negotiating - strong problem-solvers who are quick on their feet - are adaptable to working with different personalities and cultural backgrounds Teachers 🧑🏫 - educators of this world, compartmentalizing information to share with others - insane levels of patience and are also versed in collaborating with different personalities - coachable and quick learners - high attention-to-detail Television & Radio Professionals 📽️ - are hired for how they confidently present themselves = verbally, physically, and personality - become versed in memorizing scripts and are avid storytellers - need to be disciplined with time management - have experienced handling rejection through tryouts/applications I've successfully placed professionals coming from all of these backgrounds into sales jobs. What are the common themes here? Grit, hard work, adaptability, and strong communication. Most of these professionals also get a significant pay bump moving into sales, alongside more work-life balance. What other career paths have you found to translate well to sales? #selling #hiring #recruiter #recruiting #interviewing

💼 Choosing the Right Sales Position Out of College: Why Settling Is Not an Option 💼 As you start your career, don’t settle for the first sales job offer. Seek a role where you’re excited and challenged. Pay attention to: 1. Recruiter and Manager Interactions: Their professionalism can reflect the company’s culture and commitment to employee growth. 2. Company Culture: Ensure the office environment and values align with yours. 3. Interview Multiple Opportunities: Comparing different positions helps you make an informed choice about where you’ll thrive. Choose a role that inspires you and aligns with your career goals. Ok, time for another sales leadership post, this really has more to do with looking for and finding a job. Recently I went through a job transition, thankfully I found an amazing role for an incredible company. But to get here I went through a ton of cr@p. Over a few months, I spoke to more recruiters, headhunters, hiring managers, etc. than I can count. Here is what I would recommend doing if you find yourself in this position. 1) Work your connections! NO ONE knows you better. 2) Write thank you notes immediately after speaking to the HM, recruiter, etc! 3) Follow up! If you wait for an email or phone call, it's not going to come! 4) Be humble but confident. You may be the best, but you are up against potentially hundreds or thousands of other candidates! 5) Be different. How can you stand out? Be creative in your approach! 6) Be patient. I rode the ups and downs of this process, and it's NOT EASY! Finally, a big shout out to those that helped me in this process! James Carrigan, Jr., Ryan Hanna, Michael Cortez, Bret Harrison, Steve DeSantis Jake Sparkes and many others. I'd also like to thank Michelle Emerson-Russell and Mike Fitz for trusting me with an amazing opportunity! #TeamMagenta
