USC Pullias Center for Higher Education reposted this
https://lnkd.in/gJnyce6C I am excited to share a new research paper about the college and career aspirations of gang-involved Latino boys published in The Review of Higher Education - titled: "Hoped-For Selves: Using Possible Selves to Explore the Career and College-Going Aspirations for Gang-Involved Latino Boys." I hope this paper helps to shift the negative attitudes held by some educators about gang-involved children. The boys in this study shared hopes of working in the health/medical, criminal legal, and automotive industries to become business owners. They also shared goals of earning two—and four-year degrees and certificates, which counters the perception that gang-involved youth "do not care" about their futures. If you need a copy, please let me know:
May I have the link to your paper?
sounds powerful, can't wait to read it!
