It makes complete sense for companies to upskill and reskill existing talent to "future proof" their workforces. This piece touches on an important consideration: persuading employees that a new career path is right for them. Dynamic career paths and growth opportunities are positive for both companies and employees. But I believe there has to be a balance between tapping into employees' natural strengths and interests, and developing them into new roles. Expecting people to retrain and do whatever job happens to be available isn't good for either party.
