We had the incredible opportunity to attend a guest lecture by Dave Linton, the founder of Madlug, as part of my MBA program's Entrepreneurship studies, (Special Thanks to Professor Clare Rhine). Hearing Dave's story was not only inspiring but also a powerful reminder of how businesses can make a significant impact on society. Madlug (Make A Difference Luggage) was born out of a vision to support children in the care system, providing them with dignity and a sense of belonging. Often, these children have to move their belongings in bin bags, and Dave decided to change that by creating a business that donates a bag for every one sold. His journey from a simple idea to a thriving social enterprise is truly remarkable. What stood out the most to me was Dave’s unwavering commitment to his mission and the tangible difference his company makes in the lives of so many young people. It's a profound example of how business can be a force for good, combining profitability with purpose.
