[Save the Date] #ComAct Final Conference: "Tackling #energypoverty in Europe: time to renovate buildings! The case of multi-family apartment buildings in Central & Eastern Europe" 📅 January 24, 9:30 - 17:00 CET 📍 Brussels, Committee of the Regions. ✍ Register: https://t.ly/qTEd3 🏙This full day event will look at the pressing need to renovate buildings to tackle rising #energypoverty levels, in particular in Central & Eastern Europe. In multi-family apartment buildings, the process of renovating is complex and communities need to be better accompanied by local one-stop-shops (#OSS) and robust financial and technical tools. 🌍 With the recent agreement on the #EPBD, now is a crucial moment to start reflecting on how EU legislation can be effectively implemented to ensure support for #climatemitigation and #buildingrenovation in Central and Eastern European countries. 👉Full agenda: https://t.ly/qTEd3

It’s the Housing Industry Leaders Scotland conference 2023 in Glasgow tomorrow – and Procast are providing keynote speeches on the big day, as well as being main sponsors. This is the defining event for movers, shakers and influencers in the housing sector, which is at the heart of change at the moment, driven by the need to tackle fuel poverty and moves towards greater energy efficiency. Group Growth and Development Manager David Chapman and Group General Manager Gavin Oxenham will take the stage to discuss some key topics and concepts and to showcase some of our projects, of which we are justifiably proud. As a country, Scotland is now mandated to produce energy efficiency and heat decarbonisation through Local Heat and Energy Efficiency Strategies (LHEES). Accompanying them will be Delivery Plans, which will be developed in partnership with key stakeholders, and provide a strong basis for action for local communities, government, investors, developers and wider stakeholders, pinpointing areas for targeted intervention and early, low-regrets measures. The focus is now on integrating innovations and technologies into the sector, which will change the way services are delivered now and in the future. #housingleaders #housingscotland #HousingEvent #HousingConference #NetworkingEvent #Networking #Housing #Construction

🌟 Excited to Share Insights on Scotland's Planning Policy 🌟 Delighted to share my recent research findings on Scotland's planning policy, particularly the adoption of the National Planning Framework 4 (NPF4). 🏴 As a passionate urban planner, staying abreast of the latest developments in planning frameworks is crucial to my professional growth. Here's a breakdown of my key takeaways from NPF4: 🔍 Integration: NPF4 merges spatial and thematic planning policies, fostering a more holistic approach to development planning. 📈 Increased Status: With NPF4 now a statutory development plan, it carries greater weight in planning decisions, offering clearer guidance for sustainable development projects. 💡 New Themes: NPF4 introduces fresh policy themes like community wealth building and 20-minute neighbourhoods, reflecting evolving priorities in urban planning. While NPF4 presents exciting opportunities for advancing sustainable development goals, it's essential to address potential challenges such as increased bureaucracy and flexibility concerns. Keen to delve deeper into the nuances of Scotland's planning policy or discuss its implications for urban development? Let's connect and explore together! 🌆 #UrbanPlanning #Scotland #NPF4 #SustainableDevelopment #PolicyAnalysis #ProfessionalGrowth

What can we learn from the Canadian experience of retrofitting? This briefing explores what lessons we can learn from the Canadian experience, as municipalities and provinces develop and attempt to scale their retrofit activities. It looks at four elements of their work: improvements to their own community buildings; refurbishment of social housing; support for owner occupiers; and working with remote rural communities. It is behind a paywall... However, if you work in a local government in England or Scotland your council is almost certainly a member of LGIU; so are many other organisations that work with local authorities. Message me if you would like to read but have problems accessing. https://lnkd.in/eCaP9j2H Local Government Information Unit (LGIU) Freya Millard #LGIU #canada #canadian #localgovernment #localgov #localauthorities #municipalities #municipal #retrofit #retrofitting #climatechange #climateaction #localclimateaction #lowcarbonsolutions #homeretrofit #domesticretrofit
