Did you know that Living Buildings are: 🌸 Regenerative buildings that connect occupants to light, air, food, nature, and community. 🌸 Self-sufficient and remain within the resource limits of their site. 🌸 Create a positive impact on the human and natural systems that interact with them. The Living Building Challenge certification is unlike any other. It takes detail to the next level, looking at every single material and object used in the construction of the building. The certification process looks at the structure of a petal to guage the success of the project. Imagine a building that is as efficient as a flower (with 7 petals); a simple symbol for the ideal built environment. The Living Building Challenge is organized into seven performance areas: place, water, energy, beauty, materials, equity and health and happiness. This green certification option demonstrates accuracy, accute detail and the connection with nature; as its focus. To find out more about this profoundly honored and admired certification process, contact us today to find out more about the Living Building Challenge. 🌸 info@matthewsdesigngroup.ca #livingbuildingchallenge #lbccertified #lbc #greencertification #greendesign #greendesignersbc #greendesignconsultants #certifyyourproject

Excited to announce my completion of the Low Carbon Training Foundations Course offered by CAGBC | Canada Green Building Council! This course provided me with essential knowledge in low-carbon concepts tailored for the building sector. It's worth noting that my journey into sustainability began with IPLAN's Sustainable Design Module, where I gained insights into green building standards and practices in Canada. Throughout this course, I delved into five comprehensive modules: 1. Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) 2. Integrated Design Process (IDP) 3. Operational Carbon 4. Embodied Carbon 5. Transition Planning These modules have equipped me with a holistic understanding of sustainable practices, and I'm eager to apply this knowledge in the future. #LowCarbon #SustainableDesign
