The Reich Stuff – Trump and Hitler: A Comparative Analysis Comparisons between Trump and Hitler have sparked controversy, with a new book exploring their shared traits as political performers. Donald Trump's history of controversial statements, including praising Hitler and divisive rhetoric, draws parallels to the Nazi leader's tactics. Critics argue that Trump's authoritarian tendencies justify the comparison, while others dispute the historical context and label him as not a true fascist. A recent book by Henk de Berg delves into the similarities between Hitler and Trump as political showmen, focusing on their use of vague promises and extremist rhetoric. Both leaders capitalize on discontent with the status quo, offering simplistic solutions and scapegoating specific groups to rally support. Their communication styles, use of propaganda, and mass rallies serve to energize supporters and manipulate public opinion. De Berg's analysis sheds light on the performative aspects of Hitler and Trump's leadership, revealing their shared tactics in manipulating language and emotions to advance their agendas in modern politics.

Did you catch the first U.S. Presidential debate of the season? Well, it made Time Magazine release this cover. As a former New Yorker, I still follow U.S. politics with interest. This is because what happens in U.S. affects the world, especially a small nation like Singapore. America’s impact & role in the world is quite unrivaled & unique. Many still flock to the U.S. in search of the American dream. Her economic might powers global trade & commerce. The U.S. stock market has created countless millionaires (and billionaires!). Many international bodies reflect U.S. interest. The reach of the U.S military covers the globe. Many world leaders & elites were schooled in American universities. In Singapore alone, several of our political & military leaders are alumni of the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. It has been reported that undecided voters made up their minds after Biden's meandering performance and Democrats need to rethink the choice of their candidate. Many international politicians have also agreed that it was disastrous for Biden. Social media has been in overdrive. Do you think that Biden can bounce back?

🚨 Historic Political Move in the U.S. 🚨 In an unprecedented decision, President Joe Biden has announced his withdrawal from the U.S. presidential election race, fully endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris. Business leaders, including Netflix co-founder Marc Randolph, highlight this as a powerful example of knowing when to step aside. Biden has been under significant pressure, especially after the recent debate with his Republican opponent, former President Donald Trump. In his statement, Biden said, "It is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President." This week, Biden will address the nation to explain the reasons behind this monumental decision. Meanwhile, his delegates at the Democratic National Convention, starting on August 19, are not bound to support Harris. Potential nominees include California Gov. Gavin Newsom, Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker, and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, as reported by The Wall Street Journal. Kamala Harris, who has garnered numerous endorsements, expressed her gratitude for Biden's support and stated her determination to "earn and win" the Democratic nomination. Former President Barack Obama commended Biden, calling him "one of America’s most consequential presidents" and a "patriot of the highest order." We are witnessing a significant moment in U.S. politics that will shape the future direction of the country. #USPolitics #JoeBiden #KamalaHarris #Election2024 #Leadership #DemocraticParty

CHIPS act should be bundled with strict gun control, because gun violence harms workers' development of skills. Semiconductor industry needs high skill workers, and this is why TSMC's CEO is reluctant to build factories in America, where gun violence is extremely rampant. Workers can't be incentivised to develop skills where gun violence is rampant and politicians are cozed up by rifle industry. And, this also is why many, many Japanese world-class scientists much more brain-drain into China than into America. They very dislike gun violence and prefer China over US when they give up on Japan and brain-drain into China. They also hate Japanese right-wing LDP politicians. And, brain-drains of Japanese scientists into China won't stop even though China's economy goes stagnant. Because corruption of Japan's businesses and politics is sweepingly more devastating for them than China's stagnant economy. Therefore, even if China's stock markets blow up, Japanese world-class scientists surely continue to brain-drain into China. Therefore, China's scientific research will become more sophisticated than US thinks. And, if US wants to sanction against China, it must in the first place sanction against Japanese businesses who gave know-hows of IP thefts. Japanese businesses are the most significant hidden cause of China's bullying of neighboring countries. Therefore, the best way to appease China is that US lift most of sanctions against China and impose sanctions against Japanese businesses who gave China knowhows of IP thefts. Donald Trump doesn't understand the root cause of China's bullying.

It seems the chessboard of American politics is heating up once again. Senator Tom Cotton is making quite the noise as he positions himself alongside Trump in the upcoming Republican presidential lineup. Serving as the junior U.S. senator from Arkansas since 2015, Cotton's portfolio is undoubtedly robust. Let's not mince words: at 47, Cotton brings both experience and a sense of youthful vigor to the GOP lineup. But what could this mean for the Republican race? - Policy Continuity: Cotton's alignment with Trump's key policies suggests a push for continuity, particularly on conservative stances. - National Security: Given Cotton's military background, expect a heavy focus on national security and defense strategies. - Economic Growth: Will Cotton's economic policies echo Trump's, or are we in for some new fiscal maneuvers? There’s undeniable intrigue surrounding his candidacy. But the real question is, will his fresh perspective resonate with an electorate that’s already familiarized with Trump's bombastic style? More so, how will his entry disrupt the balances, rivalries, and power plays in the Republican arena? For those keeping score, Cotton’s potential VP nod could be the wildcard that reshuffles the deck. As always with politics, it’s rarely about the obvious; it’s about the strategies simmering beneath the surface. And remember, as November approaches, this is just the beginning of the spectacle. #PoliticalStrategy #GOP #2024elections https://lnkd.in/emdgfXDV

Would the World Welcome the return of President Trump. So the Biden vs Trump vs Harris Vs Trump at last shows the Dems in the lead. Should we be euphoric. Why does an inner gut feeling tell me that a Biden loss is better than a Harris Win; even with the expectations of a greater Black- White divide, an increasing anti Hispanic or anti Mexican tilt and more prolific gun procurement policies within the USA. Yes,Trump is all that and more. But Trump, despite the lofty posturing of being gypped out of Presidency last time around, has been scalded by the fire of rejection.....surely he would be a more refined President with less of narcissism this time. He would definitely return more Industries and jobs to the USA, besides the inevitable resurge of nationalism by a liberal coating of jingoism. Beyond that, the main advantage would be what a Trump presidency would bring to the world stage. The Ukraine Russia war would end pretty quick as the proxy wars against Russia would end. The Houthis would be handed a 'deal or bust' ultimatum and the Red Sea Fiasco would end. The Chinese will get an opponent who would temper their expansionist plans. The Middle east, despite being a cauldron of human misery and sorrow would see an ease out of tensions. So I strongly believe a Trump Presidency is better for World peace than a Harris Win. No potshots against a remarkable candidate like VP Kamala Harris...but you wonder, if she would have triumphed over the gutsy fight at the Primaries like a tenacious Hillary did. Besides, it would find a continuation of the coterie with people like Ted Kaufman,Anita Dunn and Bob Baeur at the helm of affairs ; and a extension of President Biden's policies which has left the world in lumbago. A Trump Presidency may not be the honey-coated pill the US electorate desires but would definitely be a positively defining moment for the whole World....no pun intended.

Who Is J.D. Vance? Why Did Trump Nominate Him for VP? Meteoric Rise: JD Vance transitioned from a "never Trump" critic in 2016 to a US Senate winner at 38 and now Trump's VP pick for 2024, reflecting a significant political shift. Trump's Influence: Trump's selection of Vance underscores his commitment to the populist, national conservative agenda, reshaping the GOP in his image and moving away from traditional Republican stances. Vance's Evolution: Initially anti-Trump, Vance's views evolved to align with Trump's policies, gaining prominence by opposing mainstream GOP positions, such as a NATO-enforced no-fly zone over Ukraine. Strategic VP Choice: Vance, from Ohio's Rust Belt, is seen as crucial for galvanizing the white working-class vote in key battleground states, a demographic pivotal for the GOP's success. Future GOP Leader: By choosing Vance, Trump signals a long-term strategy, potentially positioning Vance as a future leader of the GOP and a key figure in the populist conservative movement. #VanceVP2024 #PopulistConservative #TrumpVanceTicket #RustBeltRevival #FutureGOPLeader
