FIA confirms tighter rules on F1 right of review requests: As revealed by Motorsport.com last month, in effect, the governing body wants teams to think twice about pursuing reviews by reducing the window available in which to submit a request, and by introducing a fee. The new regulations apply to all FIA-sanctioned racing series, but inevitably Formula 1 cases have had the highest profile over the years. In 2023 there were four examples, involving Aston ...Keep reading #motorsports #racing #cars

As far as I remember, I’ve always been into motorsports, mainly bikes, as they were more attractive to me in terms of racing. However, I’ve started to read a bit more about F1 lately, especially after, at the end of 2023, Mclaren reached a level as good and capable as Max’s Red Bull for the fight or, at least, for its attempt. Last weekend, after an incredible fight in Moto 3 for the win between Ortolà and Assen’s local hero, Veijer, after the drama of Aldeguer’s long lap while fighting at the front for a Boscoscuro’s triplet and also after top class 4th position fight – which was fun to watch – got to witness one of the moments of the F1 season so far. Opinions are clearly divided: Max’s fans blame Norris, even though the dutchman avoided many penalties before what we could already call “the incident of the season” – “𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘵” if we ask to a Monegasque out there 😜. On the other hand, Norris’s fans blame Max, period. But the truth is, this is racing and those actions happen, whether they are fair or not. Of course, we could spend hours arguing about track limits, warnings, the FIA Commission, penalties, Max’s past and Norris’s alleged lack of maturity, among others. So, let’s be honest; After four years of complete Red Bull supremacy, the fact that Mclaren’s cars are equally fighting now, should be enough to make us simply enjoy it. Let’s let 2024 kill it!! – Metaphorically, of course. 📸 Formula 1 #Formula1 #Motogp #Moto3 #Moto2 #journalism

Owner of Racing Sims North East Revolutionising Events with Full Motion Racing Simulators: Elevate Experiences, Engage Audiences, and Drive Success! Info@racingsimsnortheast.co.uk
Back to School Monday How the correct racing line can vastly improve your lap time when on the simulator, (or any other racing for that matter) Entry Point: The racing line begins at the entry point of a corner, which is usually on the outside edge of the track. By starting wide, you give yourself a wider arc to carry more speed into the corner. Apex: The apex is the midpoint of the corner, where you aim to get as close to the inside of the track as possible without sacrificing speed. This is crucial because it allows you to straighten the car sooner for a faster exit. Exit Point: After hitting the apex, you accelerate out of the corner towards the exit point. The goal is to position the car on the outside edge of the track, maximizing the straight-line distance and allowing for full throttle as early as possible. Smoothness: Smoothness is key to maintaining momentum throughout the lap. Abrupt steering, braking, or acceleration can upset the balance of the car and result in slower lap times. Focus on being precise and gentle with your inputs. Consistency: Consistency breeds success in racing. Once you've found the optimal racing line for a particular corner, strive to replicate it consistently. This not only helps you refine your technique but also builds confidence in your driving abilities. Now, here are five top tips to improve your lap times by optimizing your racing line: Study the Track: Before hitting the circuit, study the track layout, paying close attention to the corners, elevation changes, and any camber variations. Understanding the track's nuances will help you identify the optimal racing line for each section. Visualize the Ideal Line: Visualize the ideal racing line in your mind before approaching each corner. This mental preparation will help you anticipate your braking points, turn-in spots, and apexes, allowing for smoother execution on track. Brake Early, Accelerate Early: Brake in a straight line before entering the corner to scrub off speed efficiently. As you approach the apex, gradually release the brakes and begin applying throttle to maximize acceleration out of the corner. Be Patient with Throttle: Avoid the temptation to mash the throttle too early in the corner. Instead, be patient and wait until you've reached the apex and can see the exit point clearly before applying full throttle. Experiment and Adapt: Don't be afraid to experiment with different lines and techniques during practice sessions. Pay attention to how changes in your approach affect your lap times, and be willing to adapt your strategy accordingly to find what works best for you. By mastering the racing line and implementing these tips, you'll be well on your way to shaving valuable seconds off your lap times and improving your performance on the track. https://lnkd.in/e2eCSwwX
