The evidence is clear: addressing these barriers can lead to significant improvements in engagement and health outcomes. By fostering environments of trust, respect, and understanding, we can ensure that every individual feels empowered to seek the care they need. #HealthEquity #StigmaReduction #PatientCare

Thrilled to share our new article on Women’s help-seeking for violence during the Ebola and COVID-19 outbreaks in Sierra Leone, published in Global Public Health! in Global Public Health! This work found that decisions to seek help were shaped by the perceived severity of violence, survivors' physical and emotional needs, and the anticipated risks of accessing care. Many turned first to informal providers, facing barriers like poor service quality and fears linked to the outbreaks. These findings highlight the urgent need for survivor-centred interventions that offer flexible, accessible support options. This research wouldn’t have been possible without the lead of #RoseBurns and the collaboration and insights of all the incredible co-authors: #NehaSingh; #MaserayFofanah; #TehsieMomoh;#ShelleyLees #JanetSeeley A special thanks to the #RainbowInitiative in Sierra Leone for their ongoing support and dedication to responding to gender-based violence.
