Let me first start by giving kudos to US commercial space industry. If you were to make a list of what our advantages are in the United States right now as we sit here in July of 2024 looking forward on that list I would include the US commercial space industry period dot not just for the space community, but for the nation writ large. It is a it is a massive strategic advantage for us and it is an advantage that is widened over the last few years.

A vision for the new Space Futures Command is beginning to take shape: according to Breaking Defense, the new command will consist of "a Concepts and Technologies Center, a Wargaming Center and the [existing]Space Warfighting and Analysis Center (SWAC)". Lt. Gen. Shawn Bratton has assembled a task force to determine the command's requirements and flesh out other details. What do you expect from Space Futures Command? Will its structure take after the Army Futures Command?

This is a new triad (SOF, Space, Cyber) that provides greater options for senior decision makers. There are others as well. Let’s here some of your ideas for new “triads”.
“Special operations forces, through their unique ability to gain access to certain geographic locations, can help us in our space mission.”

With ever increasing competition in space and tensions high in several regions of the world, the Secretary of the Air Force, and his Chiefs shared the plans for big changes within the Air Force and Space Force. It's time to restructure and retool our forces for a new era, new warfighting domains and ever-changing set of competitors and adversaries.
Using the SOF-Space-Cyber triad is an evolution in deterrence. The ability to operate in a continuum of conflict short of all out war is going to be a key factor affecting the decisions of adversaries on if they want to have a full-scale conflict. Even if that conflict doesn’t include kinetic weapons there could still be a “full-scale” space and cyber war that would be devastating to the economy of a nation. This triad enables us to demonstrate resolve and inflict a cost to shape an adversaries decision before it reaches all out conflict.
This is not just a warfighting construct. This is deterrence.

Snippets re: the U.S. Space Force:
Every military service relies on the Space Force to communicate, navigate, target, and conduct modern warfare.
The U.S. Space Force has enjoyed real budgetary growth since its inception, but that does not mean it cannot do more. Classified programs in development must be procured at scale.
The Space Force also must be able to defend itself in space and on the ground.
Assured access to space remains a top priority for the Space Force, and the launch industry cannot be allowed to consolidate or stop driving down cost-per-launch.
The Space Force must ride the zeitgeist of rapid commercial development in the space domain and use that to its advantage. T
The size of the Space Force and Space Command unfunded requests in FY25 belie the fact that much more can be done to ensure the U.S. retains the advantage in space.

SOF and Space Force integration
Operations in denied degraded intermittent and low bandwidth (#DDIL) environments require a capability to enable #SOF and #SpaceForce to collaborate real time.
An ability to speak across secret networks, share mission data, and “see” using the same layered geospatial maps..
There is only one technological innovation out there who can immediately deliver this capability and more now ..
