Our Y13 Chemists took on a new challenge after their Leeds trip: synthesising aspirin!💊They nailed solvent selection, reflux heating, and recrystallisation to ensure optimal purity and yield. Impressive work this afternoon—well done, team! 🥼👏 #AspirinSynthesis #YoungScientists

Today I learned that using a rotary evaporator instead of vacuum pump decreases the probability of by-product contamination in the reaction, which in turn can affect other procedures to be done (NMR, IR..etc.) #medicinalchemistry #organicchemistry #laboratory

Difference between LR Grade & AR Grade chemicals AR (Analytical Reagent Grade): Purity: Very pure. Use: Important experiments where exact measurements are needed. Example: Used in chemistry labs for precise tests. LR Grade (Laboratory Reagent Grade): Purity: Less pure than AR grade. Use: Regular experiments where a bit of impurity is okay. Example: Used in school labs for routine experiments. Key Difference: AR grade is much purer and used for more accurate work than LR grade.

Dilution, solution, ratio, proportion \(laboratory. calculations\) A proportion is simply a statement that two ratios are equal. It can be written in two ways: as two equal fractions a/b = c/d; or using a colon, a:b = c:d. ... Since the cross products are both equal to one hundred, we know that these ratios are equal and that this is a true proportion. Youtube video: https://lnkd.in/dYtw3u5n \#nikolays_genetics_lessons

Reaction optimisation made easy. Are you looking to take the drudgery out of reaction optimisation? Flow chemistry in microreactors offers many advantages over batch processing notably better reproducibility and scalability, improved yields and fewer problems with unstable intermediates or exothermic reactions. Our FlowSyn Multi-X multi-experiment flow system effortlessly converts your batch chemistry methods to more efficient, higher yielding flow chemistry protocols. The FlowSyn Multi-X can perform up to 10 automated sequential reaction optimisation experiments by varying key flow through parameters (stoichiometry, temperature, and residence time) where product is collected as steady state fractions in the product collector.
