Internet speeds have long been an issue for a number of our clients that live in such rural areas. With the governments roll-out of 'Project Gigabit', targeting to connect the country with gigabit fibre broadband by 2030. This news comes as a welcome boost to achieving their target and to bring our clients out of the Stone Age 😆 We always stress to customers and developers alike the importance of having a robust cable infrastructure in place when designing a build. To not only prepare the property for a full fibre connection but also 'future proof' AV distribution (which I will save for another post to elaborate). What may seem like an unnecessary and unwanted expense at the time, this area certainly pays to think ahead and cover all bases https://lnkd.in/dff3Qm-T

Interesting open letter to altnets, Julia Lopez MP of Department for Science, Innovation and Technology addresses concerns about duplicating fibre networks via overhead poles, emphasising the need for infrastructure sharing and community involvement. However, in my experience, it's noted that deploying fibre over poles is a swift, cost-effective method for rural areas, a common practice globally and is essential if the Government is to meet its 2030 broadband targets. It seems this issue appears localised rather than widespread, suggesting a balanced approach might harmonise rapid deployment with community aesthetics and control. #DigitalConnectivity #FiberDeployment #RuralBroadband #DSIT https://lnkd.in/ec4En-wv
