“The Ergo Tim!” Helping companies protect their employees, improve operations, and reduce workers compensation expenses. ASSP Ergonomics Practice Specialty Group. BSA Scoutmaster. CPR & Wilderness First Aid Certified
I had a conversation recently about a new OSHA requirement. OSHA says that if an employee reports soreness or discomfort, the employer is obligated to evaluate its work-relatedness and recordability. This means that an organization must “show its work.” It will not suffice anymore to give someone a non-prescriptive painkiller or anti-inflammatory and send them back to work, but their work will require an assessment. There are multiple methods available for assessing the work-relatedness of employee discomfort. What formal assessment method are you using? Are you using a formal assessment methodology at all? #ergonomics #safety #OSHA #recordables #workerscompenaation

The "I'm just here so I won't get fined" Marshawn Lynch mentality won't fly in safety. Worker safety is more than just a legal obligation—it's an ethical necessity. OSHA regulations were originally designed to protect the most valuable asset at a company: the employees. As safety managers, you know that a safe work environment not only prevents injuries but also creates a culture of care and respect. These regulations may seem demanding, but their intent is to save lives and prevent lifelong injuries such as hearing loss that is irreversible. By following OSHA standards, you not only avoid costly fines but also show your dedication to your team's well-being. Let's champion safety, not just because it's mandated, but because it's the right thing to do. ✅ Make sure to check out my page for exactly how something so small such as updating the compressed air blow guns can significantly improve worker safety. #WorkerSafety #OSHACompliance #SafetyFirst #EHS #compressedair #safety
