Viruses are a persistent threat to human health, with over 220 known to cause death and disease. Despite the scale of the problem, there are approved antiviral treatments for only 12 of these. New Zealand-based biotech company Kimer Med is on a mission to change that by developing broad-spectrum antivirals, which aim to combat a wide range of viral infections and protect against future pandemics.
