🌍🔥 A big step in the fight against wildfires: Greece will be the first country to build a national wildfire system using OroraTech technology! 🇬🇷 🛰️ In recent years, Greece has faced a significant challenge with wildfires, affecting approximately 2% of the country’s total land area. The rough mountainous terrain and over 6,000 islands make firefighting a daunting task, especially in remote areas with limited communication. Thanks to OroraTech’s cutting-edge wildfire detection system, Greece will now implement a national satellite-based wildfire monitoring solution to tackle this urgent issue. This development is led by the Hellenic Ministry of Digital Governance e and the Hellenic Space Center, and implemented by the European Space Agency - ESA. We know that there are many high-frequency transmitters around the world , from HAARP to Super Darn , Nexrad, SBX, and many more . The new expedition's route will be similar to that of North Pole - 41 - from Murmansk through the Barents Sea, the Kara Sea and the Laptev Sea, and then, north of the New Siberian Islands, the vessel will freeze into an ice floe, with which it will be drifting for several months. Scientific work will be both in a camp, set up right on the ice floe, and on board the ship in specially equipped laboratories. The expedition is due to finish in 2026 - despite this planned long term in the Arctic, several participants of the previous expedition have chosen to join the North Pole - 42 after just a little more than three months on the Mainland. "I've decided to take part in this expedition because our geological team needs a person experienced in work on the platform," said Sergey Malyshev, a leading geologist who had participated in the North Pole - 41 expedition. "During that expedition, our skills reached perfection, and, not to start it all over again, and to cut time for related operations and to have more time for sciences, this is why I am here. During the past expedition, the platform demonstrated remarkable ice-moving qualities, thus I am looking forward to new scientific discoveries." The North Pole is the world's first ice-resistant self-propelled platform, designed for year-round expeditions in the Arctic Ocean's northern latitudes. It does not require an icebreaker to sail to a designated area, it can drift for up to two years and return to port afterwards on its own. The platform can take on board Mil Mi-8AMT (Mi-171) helicopters. The vessel offers comfortable and safe operation when the air temperature is minus 50 degrees and humidity is 85%. The speed is at least 10 knots. The displacement is more than 10,000 tons. The vessel takes 14 crew members and 34 scientific personnel. Arcadia Planitia!! We are going back to the #Arctic! #Mars exploration, when we go, will be quite the mission and stretch our mental fortitude and technical capabilities. Here on Earth, we must test before we invest! #analogue! Work through our methods, understand the environment as we know it now, and push our limits in extreme and hostile conditions. The #Haughton crater on #Devon Island in the Canadian Archipeligo is the largest uninhabited island on the our planet! And as Robert Zubrin calls it, “Mars in Earth!” When we were on our mission this past summer, Crew15 experienced some “warm” temperatures. They were in the single Cs. 4 to 9C ish. As an example, current conditions in the Gale Crater on Mars, this past Saturday, the high temperature was 1 to 2C. Anyway, if you’re keen, we can get you and your team to the Arctic, on missions, Summer 2024 and next year as well. It’s not inexpensive, in fact, it’s quite expensive! Our plan is to head up prior to any crews, work on safety and continuing our rehabilitation of the research station to be ready to receive crews the first week of July. These are the current plans and subject to change from The Mars Society leadership, including the Canadian and Inuit governments. But we are planning now.
