Voluntary Action Arun & Chichester (VAAC)’s Post

Yesterday started with a change of scenery as I headed to the Chichester District Council Offices, where Voluntary Action Arun & Chichester (VAAC) hosted a networking event bringing together members and partners. Representatives from West Sussex County Council and Chichester District Council shared the floor to advise the importance of collaborative efforts in supporting local community groups, particularly those most in need, within the voluntary sector. Jackie Sumner, the CEO of Voluntary Action Arun & Chichester (VAAC), highlighted the significance of partnerships and the shared success of joint BIDS. She stressed the importance of training and development initiatives and assisting charities in transitioning towards achieving Net Zero and addressing the Climate Change challenge 🌎 It was great to see Elizabeth Storton, Catherine Cannon, Guy Pink, and Sara Guiel at the event, while also providing an opportunity to engage with representatives from various other charitable organisations. After the morning’s networking, I caught up with Gayle Tong and Caroline Knowles-Ley at Joanna's Boutique Tearoom in Chichester for a lovely lunch. Where Gayle surprised Caroline and me with a lovely gift for International Women's Day which was celebrated last week. #womensupportingwomen 🫶🏼 And finally, the evening started with the launch party for the new Bennett Griffin LLP Solicitors law firm office in Chichester, hosted at Chichester Harbour Hotel.
