📢 RENK announced as specialised lead contractor for new ORE Catapult offshore wind test facility   We are proud to share the news that RENK Test System GmbH (RTS) has been selected by Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult as the lead contractor for a new offshore wind testing facility in the UK. As announced by ORE Catapult in May this year, the existing test facilities in Blyth, UK, will be expanded and modernised to enable the development of the next generation of wind turbines in the United Kingdom. In this context, two pre-construction agreements have been signed with specialist contractors to support the upgrade of the existing nacelle test facility and the installation of a new test bed for rotor blades. RENK is the lead partner in this project for the installation of a new test rig at the Catapult's drive train facility, that will see capacity increased from 15MW to an initial 23MW. By taking into account sufficient growth potential, a subsequent increase in capacity to 28 MW will be ensured. The installation of the new giant test bed for future offshore rotor blades will be handled by IDOM Consulting, Engineering, Architecture. Our first Capital Markets Day today in Munich has been an inspiring milestone on our #growth journey.
