Water 🤝 Snow This Colorado River Day, we’re excited to announce our $1 million pledge to The Nature Conservancy (TNC) in support of their restoration of the Colorado River. Our gift will support TNC’s work over the next four years to restore parts of the 1,400-mile river that starts as snowmelt in the Rocky Mountains, and provides water for more than 40 million people. “We are a company that recognizes the importance of investment to inspire real action, and today, Vail Resorts reaffirms its dedication to sustainability through both investment and community engagement,” said Kate Wilson, Vice President of Environmental and Social Responsibility for Vail Resorts. “Our desire to support The Nature Conservancy is rooted in shared values, and motivated by a shared passion for preserving the natural environments we all love.” With support from Vail Resorts, The Nature Conservancy in Colorado will focus on balancing water needs, upgrading traditional and natural water infrastructure, and working with Tribal Nations to create a more sustainable Colorado River Basin. “The Colorado River that we depend on, depends on us,” says The Nature Conservancy’s Colorado River Program Director Taylor Hawes. “Through individual and collective actions such as the support from Vail Resorts, we can scale up solutions and make a difference for all who depend on this iconic river system. https://bit.ly/4fic3n4 📷 by Jason Houston.
