When it comes to building safety, not all glass is created equal. Fire-rated glass is essential for protecting lives and property in the event of a fire. But just having the glass isn’t enough—it’s crucial to install it in the right places. 🔥 Why It Matters: - Life Safety: Fire-rated glass prevents the spread of flames, smoke, and toxic gases, creating safe evacuation routes and helping to contain fires. - Building Integrity: It helps maintain the structural integrity of a building during a fire, giving first responders valuable time to control the situation. - Regulatory Compliance: Using the correct fire-rated glazing in designated areas ensures compliance with safety regulations and standards. 🏗 Key Applications: - Exit routes like stairwells and corridors - High-traffic areas such as lobbies and atriums - Openings in fire-rated walls, doors, and partitions - Facades where fire safety is critical Remember, proper placement of fire-rated glass isn’t just a regulatory requirement—it’s a lifesaving measure. Make sure your building is protected where it counts most. #PGPrimador #Construction #FireRatedGlass #PGGroup

Encouraged to see this article referenced in this cross report: https://lnkd.in/egFCBzN4 It mentions Cartwright Gardens, a Thorp Precast Limited job, as a model example of an alternative to “brick slip” systems. Casting half a brick into concrete to BS 8297 is noted as a robust way to keep bricks from falling off buildings. Having witnessed countless successful pull off tests (with loads up to 100x the anticipated peak wind load) following freeze-thaw and hydrothermal cycles, I can’t think of a better alternative to handset to keep bricks on buildings.

WHAT IS FIRE-RATED GLASS? Fire-rated glass, also known as fire-resistant glass or fire-rated glazing, is a specialised type of glass designed to withstand exposure to fire and high temperatures without breaking or allowing flames to pass through. It is commonly used in buildings to create fire-resistant barriers, such as fire doors, windows, partitions, and walls, to help contain the spread of fire and smoke and to provide safe evacuation routes. The fire resistance of fire-rated glass is typically measured in terms of its ability to withstand fire for a certain period, such as 30 minutes, 60 minutes, or even longer. This rating indicates the duration for which the glass can maintain its integrity and prevent the spread of fire under testing conditions. Certain types of fire-rated glass will provide protection against heat (Insulation). Call us on 0121 667 9089 to discuss specifying fire-resistant glazing in your project's overall fire safety plan. #letsbetransparent #fireglass #glasscompany #trusttheexperts

Visible Buildup: Before servicing, you might see a buildup of soot, creosote, or debris inside the chimney. This buildup can obstruct airflow and increase the risk of chimney fires. Blockages: There could be obstructions like bird nests, leaves, or other debris that have accumulated in the chimney, potentially blocking the flue. Damaged Components: Any visible damage to the chimney structure or components such as cracks, loose bricks, or damaged flue liners may be evident before service. Poor Draft or Smoke Issues: If the chimney hasn't been cleaned or maintained, you might experience poor draft, smoke backing up into the house, or unpleasant odors when using the fireplace or stove. After Chimney Service: Clean Interior: After servicing, the interior of the chimney should appear much cleaner. Soot, creosote, and debris will have been removed, restoring proper airflow and reducing fire hazards. Clear Flue: The flue should be clear of any obstructions, ensuring that smoke and gases can properly escape. Improved Efficiency: With a clean and clear chimney, you should notice improved efficiency when using your fireplace or stove. Smoke should draft properly up and out of the chimney. Safety and Peace of Mind: Knowing that your chimney has been serviced can provide peace of mind, knowing that it's in good working condition and less likely to pose a safety risk. Potential Repairs: If any damage was identified during servicing, repairs may have been performed to address issues like cracks, loose bricks, or damaged flue liners. Visual Differences: Cleaner Appearance: The chimney's interior will look cleaner and more well-maintained. No Visible Blockages: You shouldn't see any obstructions or buildup that could hinder airflow. Improved Functionality: The chimney should function more efficiently and effectively after servicing. #fixpro #fixproservicecenter #chimneycleaning #applianceservicecenter #chimneyservicecenter #customersupport #applianceservice #appliance
