Trust me, you will find this one funny The Life of a Data Analyst in Naija: It's More Than Just Numbers! You know how people say, "Numbers don’t lie"? Well, let me tell you something—sometimes these numbers can be as stubborn as Lagos traffic! As a data analyst, my job is not just to crunch numbers, but to decode the secrets they’re hiding. It's like being a detective, but instead of solving crimes, I'm solving business puzzles. And yes, sometimes the data behaves like a typical Naija child—refusing to cooperate until you give it some "proper attention." Picture this: you’re staring at a spreadsheet, trying to make sense of data that looks like it just got back from a weekend in the village—disorganised and scattered everywhere. But with a bit of patience (and maybe a few sips of that hot Naija tea), you start to see the patterns and connections. That's when the magic happens! You turn that chaotic mess into insights that can move businesses forward. So, next time you see those clean reports or sharp-looking charts, just know that behind them is a data analyst who’s probably had more than one “chai, e no easy” moment. But at the end of the day, when the numbers start making sense, it's all worth it. After all, we make the numbers dance to our tune. Do you need data analysis services? I am just a DM away or 📞 Whatsapp me on +2347066938021 #DataAnalyst #BusinessIntelligence #DataAnalysis #Excel #PowerBI, #DataVisualization #Hiring #Analytics #CareerOpportunities #RemoteJobs #TechJobs #AnalystJobs #Remote #DataVisualization #NaijaDataAnalayst

Hello LinkedIn Fam, It's been a while since I last posted, and I've been reflecting on how to make the most of the remaining part of the year. The past few months of job searching have been challenging, but I've decided to leverage my skills as a BI Analyst/Data Analyst to create meaningful content and projects that will benefit humanity. As Eric Thomas says, "Fall in love with the process and the results will come." Inspired by this, I'm embarking on a series of projects that analyze real-life data to provide insights and recommendations on important issues. These projects will primarily use data from government agencies, as I've noticed the increasing difficulty these organizations face in educating citizens on critical aspects of human life. I will randomly select cities, states, or countries for each project, focusing on topics like crime incidents, accidents, health, and other crucial issues affecting human existence. The data will be sourced from open data available online. After completing each project, I'll create a 5-10 minute video explaining my findings and recommendations using PowerPoint. It promises to be a fascinating journey, and who knows? Your city might be next! Stay tuned for updates and insights from around the world. Let's make a difference together! #dataanalyst #bideveloper #uk #Us #Canada #france #spain

Data Analyst Intern @ Quantum Analytics NG / / I Help Businesses, Organizations Simplify, Clarify Strategic Decisions and Increase Revenue through Data Driven Insights
What every data analyst and others must know this month. Through out my journey in data domain and other aspects of my life I’ve discovered that rejections or “No” breeds redirections to a “Yes” Let’s break that down. It’s the 1st month leading to the last 3months of 2024. As you start applying for jobs, going for interviews, seeking for mentorship etc. Don’t forget that you will might not get a yes or acceptance always. It is easy to be disappointed or feel discouraged but know the right opportunity is at the corner still waiting for you. Instead to feel discouraged, do this: ↳ Believe the process ↳ Keep pushing and ↳ Stay resilient. Every No brings you to a “Yes” that is meant for you. Always bear in mind that, your skills, resilience, consistency and your believe will lead you to the perfect door. Every “No” is just a step towards a “Yes.” Embrace the journey and stay committed Happy 64th Independence Day to all Nigerians 🇳🇬 and welcome y’all to my birth month. P.s. Please if you come across Nigerians say something nice to them. #interview #jobs #dataanalyst #month #october

Sometimes, I like to look at job descriptions like this to see how far I have come on my football analytics journey. - Can I work with SQL? ✔ I have worked on two web development projects that required me to build and monitor two separate SQL databases. - Can I work with Python? ✔ Most of my football analytics projects up to now has been in Python, including a data-driven dashboard for the Vietnamese men's national team (https://lnkd.in/eNX8uvPf) and Brisbane Olympic FC (https://lnkd.in/eJuFqevx). - Can I work with R? ✔ I have done a research project about machine learning using R at QUT (https://lnkd.in/eTrHrMfV) and have recently made some football-related visualisations in R (https://lnkd.in/exV4G-kc). - Most crucially, do I have experience working in football? ✔ I have worked both as a performance analyst and a recruitment analyst for multiple clubs in Australia and a Scottish team for about 4 years now. - But, can I work in the UK? ❌ Obviously, working at Liverpool is absolutely the dream. But with my starting point as an Asian working in football and as an analyst and have no coaching or analysis certificates to start off with, job like this feels like a long way to go. Finding opportunities in Australia and Vietnam is already hard for me, and I have always had to prove myself and my ability to contribute to a coaching staff, so working in Europe seems like a faraway dream for me. That is why I am trying to be the most flexible version of an analyst by learning multiple skills. From processing and visualising data, to working with videos and clipping them for reports, to learning tactical ideas and theories to translate data into the language that most coaches know, to using programming to build dashboards and applications. But sometimes I feel like that is not even enough.

There's a fine line between not enough projects and too many when you're applying for your first data analyst role. 2 projects = not enough. 5 or more = too many. In-between is the sweet spot. That's why it's so important to pick only your best work. You only have a short amount of time to make a positive impression. Don't overcomplicate it. BONUS TIP: Where possible, relate it to the job you're applying for.
