Many designers enjoying homogenizing views with their proposed concept. They provide larger windows to allow occupants to connect with the outside, while still inside. Still, the increase of glazing could substantially abuse energy and heat transfer. A common solution to reduce large glazing impact is to increase their insulation by adding layers of glass with air or gas in between them. Architectural #representation #communication & #presentation are equally important as the end product. We recently presented this for an extension floor of a #travelers hostel. Situated in a dense urban area there was not much of a view (one could only see a concrete jungle). So hence we decided on making the windows circular, with the idea that if one has not much to look at one should change the frame or way of looking at something. The corridor to access the same was also treated with a brightly painted #antique #mildsteel #artdeco inspired jaali green wall with hanging planters. To make this floor stand out further we painted it with a rustic #lime inspired #stucco finish. The building is imagined as a series of light courtyards and green spaces on the top floor as well. And we presented it floating above the #concretejungle.
