THRILLED to Announce ✨ The Motherhood Initiative ✨ , a collaboration between neli and Jess Ringgenberg at ELIXR! The Motherhood Initiative is our answer to the systemic gaps that exist for moms in the workforce today. It’s a totally comprehensive, completely holistic support system for women and moms in the workforce AND the companies that employ them. When companies choose to work with The Motherhood Initiative, they get the best of both neli and ELIXR. ⭐ ELIXR’s consulting and coaching services help them build organizational muscle around understanding motherhood, its impact on businesses, and how to close the gaps for working moms and their teams. ⭐ neli’s platform gives moms the space to learn, share, and grow together, addressing the physical and emotional aspects of motherhood alongside corporate and career-focused content. Corporate leaders and career coaches work in tandem with doctors, therapists, and more to create content specific to working mothers and provide a holistic resource hub for the woman’s total well-being. ----------- There are so many fights that need to be fought in this space. I think, for me, that’s been one of the hardest things to navigate as a founder. Where do we focus? What do we do? How do we actually make an impact where it feels impossible? We decided early on that neli would be a collaborator—finding ways to partner with other people and organizations doing hard, good work and pushing forward together. I am beyond excited to start this work with Jess because we believe that this is the first domino that has to fall. We want moms to see their true value in the workforce and be equipped to THRIVE. -AND- We want companies to *really* understand the value that their moms bring to the workforce and be determined to support them—because it’s better for their moms, for their businesses, for families, and for communities. Let’s go. 👏 📣 📣 📣 P.S. We're hosting a meetup for moms to chat through the struggles we all face—and brainstorm solutions together. You can meet up with me and Jess and learn more about how we can help your workplace, too. Register here: https://lu.ma/163t6xew Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/erUXB7Md

Let’s take a moment to recognise the true innovators among us: mothers! In case you forgot, it’s Mothers’ Day this Sunday! You’re welcome 😊 Mothers exemplify the spirit of innovation in its purest form – from reimagining daily routines to finding creative solutions to unexpected challenges. Thank you, moms, for: 💐 Innovating every day. Whether it’s inventing games or balancing work and family, mothers showcase innate problem-solving skills and think outside the box. Motherhood is a constant journey of adaptation and innovation. 💐 Leading by example. Mothers are not only innovators themselves but also instill values like curiosity and resilience in their children. They inspire the next generation to dream big and drive positive change. 💐 Shaping our future. The impact of a mother’s innovation extends beyond the household. Their encouragement and support fuel creativity and shape a brighter future. Happy Mothers’ Day to all the maternal figures in our lives. ☀️🫶 Wishing you a weekend filled with love and cherished moments with your family! 💚 #VentureBlick #HappyMothersDay #innovators

Happy Mother's Day to all the incredible moms out there! 🌸 Let's honor the remarkable mothers in our lives while also embracing the invaluable lessons they teach us in business. 🌸Resilience: Like a mother's unwavering support, resilience in business is key. Embrace challenges, adapt, and keep moving forward. 🌸Empathy: Mothers understand the power of empathy in nurturing relationships. In business, empathetic leadership fosters trust, collaboration, and loyalty among team members and clients. 🌸Nurturing Growth: Just as mothers nurture their children's growth, successful businesses prioritize the growth and development of their employees. Invest in mentorship, training, and opportunities for advancement. 🌸Celebrating Achievements: Mother's Day is a time to celebrate achievements and milestones. In business, recognizing and celebrating successes, both big and small, boosts morale and fosters a positive company culture. #HappyMothersDay #BusinessWisdom

Passionate communications professional who is all about helping clients engage with their audiences and other communicators be the best they can be.
We don’t often talk about how hard it is to run a small business. It’s amazing, rewarding, stressful, hard work. As Elm moves into its sixth year in business I wanted to stop and reflect on what a wild ride it has been this last year. #smallbusiness #canberra #communications #consultants
"Every year, I stop to celebrate Elm’s birthday. It’s a milestone—fifty per cent of all small businesses don’t make it to five years. We have now exceeded that. It’s a moment to celebrate the hard work and effort my team and I have put in. What a year it has been!" May marked six years of Elm Communications, so it felt right to take a moment to reflect on the past year. In our latest blog, Mel talks about why this has been the best and the hardest yet. Maritime professional and doctoral researcher with a keen interest in digital innovation to promote safer, cleaner and sustainable ocean practices
This only highlights why the maritime industry will struggle to nudge the needle on the women make up 2% of the skill pool statistic. - You can be a parent and be top management at sea, of course but it sits at conflict with many other things life has to offer. Such as having a family. - You can be a superintendent and a mother of a young child - but not how the maritime industry currently stands. “Excuse me chief, just wind my baby”. Alternative arrangements need to be made. I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS 👇 - What I would love to see more is a version of this making its way into maritime organisations. Recently, I asked someone who worked for household name furniture prodcuer if within there team how many of their colleagues were female? After rephrasing the question three times due to confusion, the person laughed and said oh it’s easily 50-50. It was so ingrained into that company culture that it was a given ‘fair’ representation policies had been implemented for so long and accepted, to even ask the question seemed silly. In the maritime domain we struggle, and on ships it’s difficult to see how we can reach 20% female representation let alone 50-50. But maybe we can start thinking so radically shore side and believe in the previously unthinkable to bring about change. Now pass me a nappy! 🐣 #gender #parenthood #mother #seafarer #lifeatsea #2% #retention https://lnkd.in/gfrYuPgg
Who says babies can’t be in the boardroom? When parents, and mothers specifically, are in leadership positions, things evolve for the better. Here’s a peek at a normal c-suite (or b-suite as we call it) meeting happening where 5 moms lead our company through the highs, the challenges, and the bottle feeds. When our CEO and co-founder Laura Modi showed up with her 3 month old, Etta, for a session not only did we celebrate that sweet baby—we fed her, bounced her, and cuddled her while sallying forth with Bobbie business decisions at hand. There are 13 babies—ages 3 months to 29 years old—between our c-suite and we are so proud to lead as a parent-first company. When we say this is for our babies too…we mean it! 💚

Fiercely Advocating for Working Moms, Speaker, Founder & CEO of Made for Mothers Community, Made for Mothers Podcast Host, and Marketing Mentor for Mother-Owned Businesses
Big scary moves OR aligned purposeful action ✨ I used to think making larger-than-me strategic leaps in my biz was scary or something to be nervous about, but things started to shift for me after I pivoted my work last year to be solely and deeply centered around motherhood. Specializing always seems scary - like you're leaving money on the table - but you cannot, and should not, be everything for everyone. That is the beauty in really honoring your unique POV and niche. there is strength in being less available, while simultaneously being ALL in for those who truly fit - it's such a win-win. I look at my biz model today and just feel like... Owning my NICHE did this. Owning my NICHE created this. Owning my NICHE led me here. 📢 With alignment comes clarity. With a defined niche comes connection. With a personal conviction comes consistency. With purpose comes revenue. I am giving a keynote on "Owning Your Niche: Magnetic Messaging Workshop for Mom-Owned Businesses" at next month's Made for Mothers meetup in Loudoun County, and also at the Working Mom Conference in Philly this Aug... and I cannot wait for us to land in a place that is way more energized and profitable once we take these leaps! https://lnkd.in/ezJQFeG9
