Today, on International Women's Day, we celebrate the achievements and progress of women worldwide and recognize their crucial contributions across all areas of life as we continue our journey toward gender equality. ✨ Exciting news to share! ✨ To say I was thrilled when the news landed in my inbox confirming that I made it onto the Innovate Finance Women in Fintech Powerlist 2023 would be an understatement! 🤩 I couldn’t think of a better day to share it with my network than on International Women’s Day 2024. It's a significant moment, not just for me, but for all the incredible women out there breaking barriers in the industry. This recognition isn't just about my name being on a list; it's about shaking things up, making space for more diversity, and sparking some serious change. My feed has been filled with mixed emotions this year, with a significant theme being that women are tired of having to hold “women focussed” events. I get it, it shouldn’t be happening anymore. However, when you’re reminded of statistics such as women holding only 11% of all Fintech board seats and representing less than 20% of company executives, with only 40% of Fintechs having appointed a woman to their boards*, it showcases why we still need to keep diversity (in all forms) as an agenda item. For now, a big shoutout to all the awesome women (and allies!) making waves in Fintech. Let's keep pushing boundaries and paving the way for a future where everyone's voice is heard. Very honored to be recognized as part of the Innovate Finance Standout 45 on the Women in Fintech Powerlist 2023 🌟 This recognition means a lot and caps off a difficult, challenging 2023 for me, personally, but also highlights the collective impact of female leaders in the fintech industry. The journey for female entrepreneurs and leaders in fintech is tough. From access to funding and resources to breaking through gender biases, the road to "success" is riddled with obstacles. Despite hurdles, women continue to defy expectations, innovate, and drive meaningful change in the fintech landscape (and obviously beyond). The Women in Fintech Powerlist sheds light on the remarkable contributions of women who are leading the charge in this dynamic industry. It underscores the importance of diversity and inclusion, not only as a moral imperative but also as a strategic advantage in driving innovation and industry growth. I'm acutely aware of my platform and am committed to advocating for greater representation, empowerment, and opportunities for underrepresented voices in the industry.
