“Hey Siri, help me raise my child.” 🤖Artificial intelligence is getting smarter. So surely this is great for parents, who now have help with the endless decision-making that comes with raising a child? 👩👧👦Not necessarily. Algorithms take away agency, which is a problem because we’re happier when we control the consequences of our actions. 📲But we can take back control — and you don’t have to unplug your smart assistant to do that. 🔗In Early Childhood Matters, Joshua Martin, a behavioural science advisor, reveals exactly how we can best use AI for children’s development: bit.ly/ECM2023-23 #ECM2023 #EarlyChildhoodMatters #PeopleBeforeParents

A child’s emotional development is a critical component of having healthy emotions and is just as important as their physical development. Developing healthy emotions can enable them to navigate social situations, build healthy relationships, and manage emotional reactions. That’s why supporting innovative solutions that nurture this critical development is at the heart of our work, giving young children the opportunity to thrive emotionally and socially. Check out this interesting video on the role of emotional intelligence in children in the age of AI. #InvestEarly #0to6Matters

Grow Financially, Academically & Boost Productivity 10x by the use of AI with me💡I Your Personal AI Guide 🌐
Meet Moxie: The bubbly AI companion designed to be a child's best friend and go-to emotional intelligence guru. But before any parent hit "add to cart," let's unpack the potential of this robot. Moxie's Magic: 1. Playful Learning: This robot ditches flashcards for silly games and engaging stories. Kids develop vital social skills and emotional awareness through laughter and fun. 2. Empathy Enhancer: Moxie recognizes and responds to your child's emotions, fostering understanding and compassion. Could this be the antidote to a world obsessed with likes and filters? 3. Confidence Catalyst: Imagine a shy child blossoming into a social butterfly thanks to Moxie's unwavering encouragement and support. But wait... Are there shadows lurking behind Moxie's bright screen? 1. Digital Dependence: Will kids become overly reliant on a robot for emotional support and social interaction? What happens when the batteries run out? 2. Screen Time Overload: Isn't another device the last thing our tech-saturated kids need? Shouldn't real-world experiences be prioritized? 3. Alienation Nation: Could constant robot companionship lead to social isolation and difficulty connecting with other human beings? The Moxie Dilemma: Moxie holds immense potential to nurture young minds and hearts. But its impact on child development remains a complex question. So, I ask you: 1. Is Moxie a revolutionary coach or a gateway to digital dependence? 2. Will it empower or isolate children? 3. And most importantly, how can we harness its potential while safeguarding children well-being? Let's spark a conversation! Share your thoughts in the comments below. ⭐️ Combining AI and behavioural science to support neurodivergent individuals in enhancing their work performance? We’re not sure you could pack more of what Spotless cares about into a single event... ⭐️ Our colleague, Krisztian Komandi, attended Behave London's two-day BSCI/AI Ideation Workshop last week as a mentor, assisting young behavioural science and machine learning graduates in creating solutions for individuals with ADHD, autism, and dyslexia. Last Thursday and Friday, Google's London campus hosted approximately 60 graduates who worked in groups to tackle challenges such as time and task management, job applications, and everyday finances. Throughout this two-day hackathon, teams were supported by mentors from the fields of behavioural science, AI, and entrepreneurship. 🏁 Every team did a brilliant job developing innovative concepts aimed at making life easier and happier for those with neurodivergent conditions. Witnessing the next generation of socially conscious entrepreneurs, designers, developers, and consultants keeps us at Spotless confident that the future is brighter than it often appears. #Spotless #BehaviouralDesign #behaviouralscience #AI #Neurodivergence #accessibility

Creative time... Do we provide our children with enough free time for creativity amidst their packed schedules of schools, activities, and camps? Innovation often stems from merging seemingly unrelated ideas. Reflecting on the structure my daughter crafted with tealight candles sparks curiosity about her creative process and ours too. How do our brains cultivate creativity, blending disparate ideas to address challenges? What insights can intelligence, specifically AI, offer on this creative process? Exploring our creative algorithms opens up a realm of possibilities. Share your thoughts on fostering creativity and innovation in children and adults alike. #Creativity #Innovation #ChildDevelopment

Everyone deserves the tools to be successful in school, in work, and in life. Family literacy aims to make that a reality by breaking the cycle of low literacy through the support of both parents and children. #ArtificialIntelligence (AI) is increasingly being used in many places, including in our homes. Understanding AI helps caregivers and family members create safe, supportive environments where technology serves as a tool for development rather than a source of concern. Fascinating set of top-line findings from within this Common Sense Media study of teens, parents and #GenAI. Bullets 1 and 2 seem at odds - without being at all surprising - with 3. 1) Parents of Black teens are more optimistic about the impact of generative AI on learning, skill acquisition, and inequality in education; 2) Black and Latino youth are significantly more likely to say generative AI will have a positive impact on their learning in school, and that the introduction of Gen AI has changed how they think about their future; 3) Black teens are **about twice as likely as their peers to report that teachers flagged their schoolwork as being created by generative AI when it was not**. (Admittedly, these are headlines and don't show the breakouts for each question, or the subtext of follow-up questions and such... there's also a lot, lot more in the full report.) https://lnkd.in/eMgcjN_V

I served as a guest speaker on "Online Disinhibition Effect" for young adult students in Chicago today. I instructed them over the past couple of days on the various biases and mental health infractions AI poses to young adults. Needless to say, these students were engaged with the lesson: https://lnkd.in/gaDXMQny The students will use what they've learned to write their own AI policy to submit to their respective education boards. They focused on how AI's misunderstanding of ODE traits may lead to mental health and legal ramifications due to embedded biases in algorithms and uninformed humans monitoring testing data inputs for AI. I believe in student agency. Generation Alpha has had finger-touch tech since their birth. It behooves us to give them a seat at the table. #ArtificialIntelligence #ai #AIpolicy #policy #onlinedisinhibition #education #students #advocacy #ai_in_education
