ARE EFFECTIVE The Delivery Unit model—a core component of DA’s work with governments, philanthropies, and NGOs globally—prioritizes effectiveness and tangible results in public policy implementation. The approach shifts teams' focus from a macro vision to a more detailed, pragmatic perspective. Delivery Units enable leaders to measure, evaluate, and adjust their actions precisely and efficiently. The model optimizes processes, reduces bureaucracy, and increases the effectiveness of service delivery, all resulting in an optimized administration aligned with citizens’ needs that empowers the public and builds trust. A central aspect of implementing Delivery Units is training teams on the necessary processes to achieve agile management. Capacity building, another cornerstone of the model, enables more immediate delivery and helps create positive public perception.
The state of Pernambuco in Brazil faces a significant challenge with a deficit of over 173,000 early childhood education spots. But they’re not just acknowledging the problem—they’re taking action. Through the innovative Delivery Unit model, Pernambuco is driving meaningful improvements in education, health, and the environment. In our latest blog post, we dive into how this region is turning the tide with three key actions: 1️⃣ Prioritizing Evidence-Based Decisions 2️⃣ Building Strong Collaborative Networks 3️⃣ Maintaining Relentless Focus on Outcomes 🔗 Learn how these strategies are making a real difference and what other regions can learn from Pernambuco’s approach 👉 https://bit.ly/3yXIXcm

An initial dedicated consultation for Aboriginal stakeholders working in early childhood was held on 28 August 2024. The session was attended by representatives from SNAICC, SAACCON, Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations (ACCOs) and early childhood services from across South Australia, stretching from Ceduna, the APY Lands, Mount Gambier and everywhere in between. The session provided an overview of the specific early childhood investment for empowering Aboriginal children and families, the opportunities to develop innovative models of preschool for Aboriginal children, and how the OECD will partner with Aboriginal services to strengthen the ACCO sector. Key themes in the discussion included access to allied health services, the importance of strong relationships with community, and opportunities to strengthen the Aboriginal early childhood workforce. This is the first of many conversations that will continue over the next 12 months as part of the co-design of Aboriginal preschool and workforce strategies. If you are interested in being involved, please feel welcome to contact the OECD Closing the Gap team via OECD.ClosingtheGap@sa.gov.au.

Why does best practice continue to be an unattainable goal in many developing nations? Adhering to best practices often remains a theoretical concept due to the following challenges - Limited resources and funding for audiology services, equipment, and infrastructure. - Shortage of trained audiologists, especially in rural areas (service clustering in urban areas). - Lack of audiology education programs and training opportunities. What can be done? 1. Develop context-appropriate audiology education programs and training opportunities tailored to the needs of developing nations. 2. Implement task-sharing models, where non-specialist health workers are trained to do some basic work(screening) under supervision, to increase service accessibility in rural areas. 3. Promote locally-manufactured, affordable, and sustainable hearing aid technology and assistive devices. 4. Raise public awareness about hearing loss and its impact, and advocate for policies and funding to support audiology services. 5. Foster international collaborations and knowledge-sharing between developed and developing nations to build capacity and adapt best practices to local contexts. What are your thoughts on this ?

https://lnkd.in/dxhr2BbD Very important topic, the text is joint statement of Europena Expert Group on the Transition from Institutional to Community-Based Care, and something is missing Roma experts group within the mentioned expert group. According to my knowledge at the end Roma children stay in many institutions. Why? Who is in charge of Roma children? Should be, definitely, Roma expert in the mentioned field, and here we are. Pls, feel free to contact us, BUT do not make decisions on our children without us!!!!!!And deinstitutionlaisation of Roma children MUST BE extra topic, our experience is here to be shared.
Call for stronger prevention of child institutionalisation: Time to step up monitoring and evaluation of early childhood intervention and family support in the European Child Guarantee
