IMG is to continue its wide-ranging media rights distribution, sponsorship sales support, consultancy and service provision role with Euroleague Basketball for another 10 years after both parties committed to a new agreement. Infront has tied down more media rights business in athletics in a two-edition deal to sell international broadcast rights to the new 'made for TV' World Athletics Ultimate Championship. Infront has added the biennial event to its roles negotiating global broadcast deals for World Athletics’ Diamond League, Continental Tour Gold and Indoor Tour Gold. The agency has been unveiled as the distributor of global broadcast rights – excluding Hungary – for the inaugural 2026 edition in Budapest. SportBusiness understands that Infront has also been awarded media rights to the 2028 edition, leaving World Athletics free to go to market from 2030 onwards with rights to its major properties. SportBusiness recently released the 2023 Global Media Report that takes a look at the value of sports media rights. The chart below estimates global sports media rights will reach over $62B in 2024, up 11% from the year prior and up 22% since 2019. Soccer was deemed the most valuable sport at $19B with the NFL the most valuable property at $12B.
