Elevating Automation with Salesforce to the Next Level. There are a handful of features everyone should be familiar with. If you're familiar with flows and find them impressive, just wait until you dive into, OmniStudio. I call this Salesforce automation on steroids! The Terminology 🧵 1. OmniStudio – A low-code development platform used to build business applications. This is where you will be when creating the automation. 2. OmniScript– Is a declarative tool using which you drag and drop components and create business processes as a script or steps. OmniScripts has a modular architecture. 3. OmniStudio DataRaptors Extract (DRE)– Serving as a declarative Extraction tool, used to extract multiple Salesforce objects (Related or unrelated) at the same time. 4. OmniStudio DataRaptors Transform (DRT)– You can use DRT to transform a given JSON structure into another. 5. OmniStudio DataRaptors Load (DRL) – Much like a DML Statement, DataRaptor Load (Create/ Update) used to load data. 6. Integration Procedure (IP) – Is a declarative, server-side processes that execute multiple actions in a single server call, merging outputs to multiple APIs and coordinating multi-step calculations. IP’s are used to feed data into OmniScripts. 7. OmniStudio FlexCards – If you want to flex the functionality, use this. It’s a UI component and application. The data source from FlexCard can come from DataRaptor, Integration Procedure, SOQL query, SOSL Search and even Apex Remote and Apex Rest to name a few. Keep the below in mind to fast-forward the learning: ✅ Standardising Naming conventions when creating any of these helps you in the long run. ✅ Always reuse the components ✅ Don’t overcrowd your OmniScript with complex business processes. Instead, create a parent OmniScript and multiple child OmniScripts for better control and maintenance. ✅ Use IP to send and return more data than needed. ✅ Use IP for all data calls ✅ Create Targeted DataRaptors to Extract and to Load Data. ✅ OmniStudio runs on Metadata and Vlocity runs on Managed Package runtime. You can run both of them simultaneously. ✅ Use Camel Case or Pascal Case when naming a FlexCard Give it a try and come back to share your thoughts.

Many companies have a hard time keeping up with their automation program. Questions continuously pop up like: Which ones are on? Which ones are paused that shouldn't be? Who worked on this one? Why is this titled wrong? I found two easy ways to keep automations simple and organized. 1. Institute a naming system for the automation title. It could be something as simple as [INITIALS] [TITLE] [YEAR] or something complex like [YEAR] [INITIALS] [TITLE] [DIVISION] [BRANCH]. Any of this helps to save time when searching. 2. Build and maintain an automation tracker. I found this to be a lifesaver when you are building automations for your clients and everyone needs to be aligned. The tracker can be a simple Google Doc that is shared with all stakeholders to know which ones are live, which ones are completed, which ones are in queue, etc. Knowing this helps to build a pipeline for future automations to be built in a timely matter. Here's to a more efficient week! #automation #candidateengagement #marketingautomation
