June has arrived, and with it comes a time for celebration, reflection, and unity as we honor #PRIDEMonth2024. This month, we join millions worldwide in recognizing the resilience, courage, and contributions of the LGBTQ+ community. PRIDE Month is more than just a time for parades and festivities. It is a powerful reminder of the progress we've made and the work that still lies ahead. This year’s theme, “Embracing Diversity and Inclusivity,” encourages us to celebrate the unique identities and experiences that make up our vibrant community. Reflecting on the journey towards equality, we remember the pioneers who paved the way for LGBTQ+ rights. Their bravery and dedication have led to significant milestones, from the decriminalization of homosexuality to the legalization of same-sex marriage in many parts of the world. Yet, we recognize that there are still challenges to overcome and that our collective effort is essential in fostering a world where everyone is free to be their authentic selves. #pridemonth #PRIDE #loveislove #LGBTQ+ #rights #diversity #inclusivity

Embracing Diversity Beyond Pride Month! As Pride Month comes to a close, I've been reflecting on what it truly means to celebrate diversity and inclusivity. Do we need a designated month to celebrate Pride? Do we need to categorize and highlight differences so distinctly? In June, we see a surge of rainbow-coloured logos, Pride-themed content, and community speakers being invited to share their stories. But why do we focus so much on these efforts only during this month? Shouldn't recognition and celebration of the LGBTQ+ community happen every day, not just in June? Are we, as individuals, only recognized during specific months? Working at Diva, where our founder proudly belongs to the LGBTQ+ community, has taught me that celebrating people should be an everyday practice as humans are humans, irrespective of caste, creed, or gender. Inclusivity is a continuous practice. It fosters representation, drives innovation, and builds empathy. Let's make every day a celebration of diversity. 🏳🌈✨ #PrideEveryDay #InclusivityMatters #DiverseAndProud #LGBTQ #PeopleArePeople

As June is Pride month, we have reflected on our principles of inclusive prosperity and impactful change. While we are not experts in the LGBTQ+ space, we use our fundamental principles to guide our work in what it means to create inclusive, equal and safe spaces for all marginalised and vulnerable groups. This goes beyond changing the colours of the company logo for a month or decorating the shop floor. To create impactful change and inclusive prosperity, businesses should: > Make a public statement and commitment to creating inclusive spaces > Ensure you have inclusive policies and support channels for staff and customers > Engage with staff and customers to listen and learn about experiences, challenges and ideas for change > Be transparent about the change you make, share progress and learnings as well as celebrating success > Create partnerships with LGBTQ+ organisations to inform and guide your work and provide funding to the organisations. #pride #inclusivity #inclusivebusiness #LGBTQ+

Data from a recent survey by The Trevor Project show that LGBTQ+ young people have mixed feelings about their chances of reaching the age of 35. While 58% of respondents believed there was a high chance of living to age 35, over a third (34%) believed their chances were low. The remaining 7% were unsure. These findings highlight the need for continued support and resources for LGBTQ+ youth, as they navigate unique challenges and experiences. Let's work together to ensure all young people feel valued and empowered to live their lives to the fullest. https://lnkd.in/eaz_8EAh #LGBTQ+ #YouthEmpowerment #MentalHealthAwareness

What is an LGBTQ+ ally? The aim of an ally, or advocate, is to step into the shoes of their LGBTQ+ colleagues, understand the challenges they face, and promote greater understanding of their needs and concerns. Many people within the construction industry are becoming allies to actively support LGBTQ+ colleagues, who may be feeling vulnerable or unable to truly be themselves at work. These people voluntarily choose to champion diversity and inclusion within construction, and lead initiatives to raise awareness of the issues members of the LGBTQ+ community experience on a daily basis. Allyship can lead to positive change and greater diversity and inclusion in the construction industry. Help change the construction industry for the better as an LGBTQ+ advocate and ally with Go Construct – find out more 🏳️🌈 https://bit.ly/4ep7eIc #pridemonth #lgbtq #ally #advocate #diversity #inclusion
