Once every four years, the global radiotherapy community gathers for the World Congress of Brachytherapy, and thankfully, 2024 is one of those years. Brachytherapy is a time-tested method of delivering localized radiation directly to tumors while sparing the surrounding healthy tissues. Despite the long and robust history of this treatment method, our teams are excited to join in conversations about the latest advancements to brachytherapy. See you there!

The aScope™ 5 Broncho was made for advanced bronchoscopy procedures. Watch as Interventional Pulmonologist, Dr. John Hinze, performs a rigid bronchoscopy with debulking and removal of a large tumor using the aScope 5 Broncho HD. “The ability to rotate like more expensive interventional scopes was also quite advantageous.” Learn more about how the aScope 5 is the best single-use bronchoscope for advanced procedures: https://ow.ly/BCBx50RG644 #bronchoscopy #singleuseendoscopy

SVP at Elekta, Medical Affairs & Attending Radiation Oncologist at Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania
The pace of clinical evidence development for MR-Linac Tx is stunning. It has been developing faster than any prior Rad Onc technical innovation. The first-in-man for MR-Linac was just 8 years ago! At least two reasons for this extraordinary pace: (1) There is lots of powerful clinical information in those MR images. (2) The field of Radiation Oncology is just getting better at the task of clinical evidence development. Kudos to leaders like: Arjun Sahgal, Jay Detsky and team from Sunnybrook!
Fantastic news that our UNITED 1 trial as a first in the world to perform weekly adaptive radiotherapy for glioblastoma with the Elekta Unity MR Linac has been accepted as a late breaking abstract for the 2024 ASTRO meeting. This Sunnybrook trial also evaluated the adoption of a 5mm CTV margin as opposed to 1.5 cm, and hypothesized safety by routinely adapting and using the potential of real time online mri guidance with a 1.5T MR linac system. Congrats to the lead author Dr. Jay Detsky and the entire CNS team, and of course we are grateful to our patients and families who we continually strive to advance care for as this is a devastating disease.

EpicentRx CEO Dr. Tony Reid spoke with exquisite precision about the promising potential of AdAPT-001 to treat patients with refractory tumors such as advanced #sarcomas at PMWC - Precision Medicine World Conference’s #PMWC24 last week. Our lead candidate, AdAPT-001, is an adenovirus that expresses a TGF-β “trap,” which binds to and neutralizes the ubiquitously overexpressed immunosuppressive cytokine, TGF-β. Initial data from a Phase 1/2 study demonstrated that AdAPT-001 is well-tolerated with impressive evidence of durable responses in combination with a checkpoint inhibitor that patients had already received—and failed. Learn more about the precision of AdAPT-001 here: https://bit.ly/41a3LXH
