Recent studies indicate that up to 85% of adults with autism are unemployed due to discrimination and a lack of understanding of the unique skill sets that people with autism bring to the workforce. in trying to benefit and help our children, have created an environment that is adding to their frustration and angst. I propose a simple solution. Let the kids work for a year as seniors in high school, and have it be integrated into their classroom work. Although internships are great in college, we should be fostering their participation earlier on in life, preferably during high school, an issue which my proposed solution would address.

We know most autistic young people want to work but face stigma, rejection and a lack of opportunity in the current job market. #AutismAcceptanceWeek We want to stop this cycle before it begins for the next generation of autistic young people, by building a bridge from education into employment. Our Employ Autism programme offers autistic people paid internship opportunities in autism-supportive environments. Our programme gives autistic young people a better chance of securing work, and increases the awareness, attitudes and confidence of employers to benefit from a neurodivergent workforce. #WAAW24

I’ve learned so much about the VC world and how we are actively seeking to reshape it by being more inclusive. I like to keep the batch small and prefer to give personalised attention to all of you. It will be an online internship. P.S. Treat class as accurately as flight time. ● Only genuine reasons for not attending or being late would be excused ● I respect punctuality ● Please focus on the deadlines of any homework given. Some would be theoretical in nature and some would be activity based. All of it will contribute to upscale your skills. In the journey of professional growth, it's often said that you become the company you keep... Two years ago, I decided to leave my full-time role in healthcare to pursue a tech career. For a little over a year now, I've had the privilege of being a fellow at TRANSFORM VC, a venture capital firm that strongly aligns with my personal values and mission—to create significant, meaningful impact. This fellowship provided me with the invaluable opportunity to work closely with two exceptional individuals, Rama Chakaki and Raed A. Masri. It gave me an inside look into the world of venture capital, allowing me to learn to think like one: from sourcing and analyzing deals to fundraising and relationship building. This experience has taught me some profound lessons (highlighting a few): - The need to address the underrepresentation of Women, Black, and Brown individuals in Venture Capital and Tech -Prioritizing impact in investment decisions -Recognizing the transformative potential of today's funded technologies on our future lifestyles Reflecting on this journey, I've come to appreciate how much our surroundings shape our perspectives and opportunities. As I continue to grow professionally, I am eager to connect with others who share a passion for driving positive change.
