People in the UK are wading around in flood water, and the so-called UK government is attempting to ram a totally unnecessary and counterproductive oil and gas license bill through parliament for purely party-political reasons, with the Opposition not saying they will revoke new licenses. It will not reduce energy prices. It will not increase energy security. As Rishi would say, "That's the facts." From the FT, November 2023: "UK oil and gas regulator opposed Rishi Sunak’s mandatory licensing rounds. Board of North Sea Transition Authority found unanimously that move was unnecessary."
